Purchased this recently online. When it arrived it had a distended/expanded seal under the blue cap. This is a pretty good indicator of a spoiled product. We told support Sam's customer service and they sent out another bottle. This one had the same issue. We contacted Hellman's support directly and best they could offer was a coupon for even more potentially spoiled mayo.... yay. The seal under the lid for any preserved product like this should be sucked in tightly. (this is due to them being bottled at cooking temperatures). If the seal is expanded then the product is actively spoiled (meaning any number of nasty anaerobic bacteria are enjoying your mayo). If the seal under the lid is loose then has potentially been broken and you have no way of knowing if its safe to eat. No longer feel confident buying mayo online.
