Must Clean Annually!

This alarm works as it should, but it is not maintenance free. You MUST clean it annually with compressed air. Otherwise, it can become triggered as a false alarm. I look forward to it lasting 10 yrs., at which time you must replace it.

Kiddie replaced it.

I have one of these that malfunctioned. I called Kiddie & they replaced it free of charge & I didn’t need to return the defective one. I am getting a few more over time.

Gave false alarm and wouldn't reset

Bought & installed Jan 2018. False alarm (had fire dept come out to verify no CO present) and would not reset. I do not recommend it.

Hello. It sounds like some dust or debris or an insect got into the smoke chamber of the alarm and the alarm mistook the debris for smoke. It is possible that vacuuming out the alarm around the back side edges of the alarm very thoroughly with the hose attachment of a vacuum cleaner or blowing out the alarm with a can of compressed air like keyboard cleaner around the back side edges very thoroughly might have flushed out any debris and restored the alarm to working. We recommend cleaning out all of your smoke alarms at least every 6 months to a year and at this point we would recommend cleaning out all of your other alarms as well as a preventative. If you have issues in the future, please contact us with the product in hand at 1-800-880-6788 and we are happy to figure out what is going on and how we can get the issue resolved.

works great

I was maintance man at 500 units and installed these detectors in every unit, never had a problem with any of them. I would give them a 5star rating. I am using them in my own home. Have been for over twenty years.

3 years old all done!

After 3 years in the Kitchen this alarm has never made a sound. It starts going off 3 beeps pause 3 beeps, There was no fire so we hushed it, 2 minutes later it started fire alarm again so once more we hushed it, 2 minutes later fire alarm again. I took it down and tried to clean it out with compressed air but that did not work either. I have 5 of these in our 3 story home and hope this is not an issue with the others. I thought these would be ideal having a ten year lithium battery.

Hello. Yes, cleaning out the alarm usually resolves the issue but very occasionally debris gets lodged in the sensing chamber and can't be gotten out. Call us at 1-800-880-6788 with this alarm in hand so we can help you resolve this issue.
