After sporting a beard for 27 years, I needed to buy a razor. While I tried several, the Mach3 gave my sensitive skin the most respect without sacrificing the close shave I needed to maintain my professional image. I know that G has some newer products, but this one is serving me well. Why mess with success?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have tried the Gillette Mach3 Razor Blades. While I am not a big fan of razor cartridge shavers I tried this one with an open mind. I was pleasantly surprised at the closeness and smoothness this shaved provided. I will keep this as a backup to my current system and use as a travel razor. It is a "Go To" for sure and does the job well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think this was one of the smoothest shaves I’ve had in a long time. I don’t think you need more than three blades for a close shave. The pivoting head is great. The only thing that might make it better is if the head was flexible as well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was expecting a close shave from the Mach 3 and it beyond that. It delivered a closer shave on the first pass than the 4 blade razor that I currently use. The hair on my neck grows in different directions so I need to make several passes to get all the stubble and it did just that without the redness, irritation and the occasional nick that I usually get. I think I'll ditch the 4 blade razor for the Mach 3!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first received notification I could participate in a Gillette Mach3 Razor review I thought, "what is this, 2002?". In fact, it wasn't. First introduced in 1998, the Mach3 is approaching 20 years keeping folks clean shaven. Up front, I want to admit I use a Gillette Fusion for my daily shaves, but I did use a Mach3 in the past. I was expecting a slight degradation from the Fusion's performance, and I didn't really get one over this short review period. I used the Mach3 a total of 7 times. While I use a non-Gillette brand shaving cream/lotion, I was impressed with the Mach3's ability to smoothly take my moderate daily scruff straight down to the skin. I shaved 5 times on 24 hour scruff and twice on 48 hour scruff, and it was able to provide a smooth, tight shave with no irritation. Another thing I appreciated was how simple and light the razor is (see picture compared to my Fusion). Something basic and clean was appreciated. The other demographic I believe could benefit from a Mach3 are those that are just learning to shave. Save some money, and buy this for your teenagers instead of higher priced options. It will easily handle their fuzz. That said, I haven't been able to test the limits of the cartridge's performance. I plan to use it until the cartridge needs replacing, and I depending on the results I may actually permanently switch BACK to the Mach3! The cartridges are about 30% cheaper than fusion refills, and considering I shave every day for work, that cost can add up! Even after 20 years and apparent "advancements in shaving technology" from other razors, the Mach3 still gives a terrific shave and compares well against higher priced razors. Give it a shot if you're up in the air on your razor decision.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think Gillette Mach 3 razor is one of the better brand of razor on the market. I used the Mach 3 after a week without shaving. The Mach 3 cut through my beard with ease leaving my face nice and smooth. There were no red marks or bumps after my shave. I felt that the Gillette Mach 3 shaved my face just as close as my other 5 blade razors do. The only draw back for me was that the handle was a little small for my hands.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow! Talk about a smooth shave! Usually after I shave with a hand held razor, I can rub my face and I still feel some stubble. But not with the Gillette Mach 3 - It does a really good job of giving you a close shave. I need a really sharp razor because I take blood thinners, so I can't take a chance on getting nicks. If you use this, you won't have any issues at all. I would recommend this product to anyone that wants a high quality shave. And here's a great tip: After you are done shaving, dry off your razor and store it in a dry area and it will last a lot longer!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Gillette Mach 3 men’s razor, is the closet shave that I have ever had ..I have in the past used other blade razors & electric shavers & I can honestly say this razor not only gives you a close shave, your skin will be so smooth.

The older Mach3 razors (with blue plastic, which I ordered directly via the Gillette website) were fantastic. I've been using the Mach3 and only the Mach3 for over 20 years to shave my head and my face - outstanding. However, the last batch of Mach3 razors (the new variety with black plastic) had to be returned. The shave was clearly subpar by comparison. You could not only feel the difference when shaving, but the razors required going over the same area multiple times to produce a shave which was barely as good as what you could achieve with one or two passes from the older blue plastic Mach3's. I don't know why anyone at the company would make changes to a product that is already perfect. It makes no sense whatsoever. I don't know what I will buy to shave my head/face with now, but it will not be the Mach3 any longer. Shame on Gillette for ruining a great razor for no apparent reason.
