Hi Sharon, thank you for bringing this to our attention, we&#39;re sorry to hear your handle is not locking in place. <br /><br />The issue may be the mechanism may have shifted during transportation. We want to try to re-engage this part in the handle. <br /><br />Please try the following steps:<br />Hold the red handle in your right hand - grey in left.<br />Extend halfway (not fully) turn red handle away from you to lock.<br />Extend bottom grey part (closest to the base where the treads are) halfway, turn toward you to lock. <br /><br />You should now be able to extend both ends fully to locking position.<br /><br />For additional help and information, please reach out to our customer service team at https://ocedar.com/customer-service/ so we can assist you further.
