We're sorry to hear that ☹️This should help you out! -Hold the red handle in your right hand - grey in left. -Extend halfway (not fully) turn red handle away from you to lock. -Extend bottom grey part (closest to the base where the treads are) halfway, turn toward you to lock. We appreciate the feedback! The red triangle-shaped frame and connector on the RinseClean refill are smaller than the EasyWring Spin mop to provide improved maneuverability, however the actual microfiber mop strings are the same in size providing the same great cleaning performance and cleaning into tight spaces and corners.
