Be Informed Contains Wheat & Sugar!

listed in order on the label: chili peppers, other spices, wheat flour, salt, dextrose (sugar), maltodextrin plus other ingredients. Some people can't have gluten because of an allergy. I don't want wheat or sugar in my taco seasoning, I don't want the fillers just the spices.

Better than McCormick

I used to shop at Costco so we always bought the McCormick brand. I was a little worried to try out something new but this was great. It has a great flavor closer to Taco Bell. Everyone in my family really enjoys tacos made with this seasoning and it is also good with chicken or pork.

Great Product for a Wonderful Price

I always buy my seasonings in bulk (I cook every day, my husband doesn't like to eat out) because I am always using them. I couldn't get my usual brand, so I purchased this one. I am happy the other wasn't available. It gave me a chance to try this. It is really good. I sometimes add some cumin to the recipe's that have this in them. I make Taco Burgers. My 7 & 10 yr old grandsons go bonkers over. Recipe: 2 lbs. ground beef or turkey 1/2 Medium Onion, chopped 1/2 Sweet Pepper, chopped 1 small can Green Chilies 1/2 Cup Taco Seasoning, or less to taste 1/2 Teaspoon Cumin, more/less to taste 1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder 4 oz. Tomato Sauce, more or less; don't want soupy or too dry 1/2 Cup Mild or Medium Salsa, your taste for heat 2 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce Mix together and form into 1" thick burgers. Either fry or cook at place in baking pan and cook at 400 for approximately 30 minutes (depends on size and thickness of burger). I usually bake mine as it is less mess on the stove, and you can use the time elsewhere doing something wanted or needed. Drain on paper towel to remove any excess grease. Place in a flour tortilla with grated Colby/Jack Cheese and rice (or have on the side). Fold like a pinwheel. You can either brown the outside of the tortilla or eat as is. I hope if you try this recipe and/or product that you enjoy it as much as my grandsons. They eat 2 of these at one sitting! Happy Eating Stay Blessed and I Hope Everyone Has a Wonderful Holiday

Overloaded with salt, 3rd item on ingredients list

I don't mind a bit of salt, but it should be near the middle or bottom of a mexican seasoning blend. Instead, Tone's puts it as item #3. So, if you really want to give your Mexican food robust flavor, it ends up being a mess because it is so salty. Let the user add more salt to taste. This seasoning is unusable for me and I bought 2 of them. Never again. Also, with chili as the first ingredient rather than other more interesting (or at least less obvious) Mexican spices, it can add a little bit more heat than some might like without adding much of a flavor profile. But the overdose of salt is what truly ruins this; when you try to bump up the flavor with more seasoning, it becomes completely inedible due to the excess salt.

Great Taco Seasoning!!!

I wanted to make tacos for dinner one night and forgot the seasoning mix at the store. But the meat was already cooked and did not feel like going out on a rainy night. I remembered that I picked up this product while I was at Sam's and tried it for the first time that night. We were pleasantly surprised by how good this seasoning is. I used it as the instructions directed 1/4 cup to one pound of meat and 2/3 cup water. I let it simmer for about 5 minutes so it thickened up a bit. It tasted almost similar to Taco Bell's taco meat. Next time I might add just a little bit more seasoning as I found the end result to be a little under-seasoned. I will never buy the packets at the store since I can get this seasoning for such a great price at Sam's. This has become a pantry staple in my house now.
