My husband in particular used the whole box up to get through these spring allergies. I bought more to have when he gets bad. It wasn't as strong as my typical OTC med in reducing my runny nose, itchy throat, and itchy eyes, but it was able to be taken at any time without making me drowsy.

I have been using Xyzal for about a year now, year round for my many allergies. It works in the one hour time frame as advertised. I feel it works almost all the way up to the 24 hour mark also. BUT even with taking it at night the drowsy effect is something serious. It makes me wonder if melatonin is in here! Benadryl does not make me drowsy but you can bet my eyes are dropping 50 minutes into the dose. Overall, I do recommend but take when you can be sure to get a full night's rest.
