Lipton Gallon Tea Bags, 24ct

Reviewers who comment on the string on bag are not reviewing the ONE GALLON bags as those bags do not have strings. My husband brews two(2) GALLON bags per 1/2 gallon water in microwave for 7 minutes to make EXTREMELY strong tea that he pours over ice after the tea has cooled. To me his tea is way too strong and way too bitter undiluted but that's how he has loved it for decades. I use a few ounces of his "concentrate" with 10 oz of water for pretty strong iced tea. (Very few eating establishments make their ice teas anywhere as strong as what I like even.) That being said he will only use Lipton 1 Gallon bags for his daily pot of very strong tea. Substituting other size bags throws off his "formula". He doesn't like to fool with the strings and tags. The ONE GALLON bags are very difficult to find and we were pleasantly surprised to find them at Walmart. PLEASE KEEP THEM STOCKED, PLEASE. That being said (again) every morning I have one Lipton cup sized hot tea bag, with a bag of plain green tea. If I let it steep too long the Lipton tea does make the blend more bitter than I like so I remove Lipton bag after a very few minutes steeping and leave the green tea bag in to get as many goodies from the green tea as possible. Maybe those who consider it bitter are leaving the bag(s) to steep too long. Disclaimer..... There are plenty other gourmet type teas, costing much more than the Lipton, that I really prefer but cost and availability of these teas factors in to my choosing the Lipton for daily morning tea. PLEASE, PLEASE WALMART KEEP STOCKING THE ONE GALLON BAGS. Most of the big brand teas have their own distinctive notes. Husband will only make his strong tea with Lipton brand.

Get ice tea bags to make a gallon at a time.

A very good product. I first fill the 1 gallon pitcher with cold water. Then put the giant tea bag in the pitcher and catch part of the one of the corners in the area between the pitcher and lid. I then put it in the refrigerator and it's good to go in about 6 hours. Much easier and cheap then using individual tea bags.

Easy, cheap & good

I fill a one gallon former pickle jar with water, drop in a tea bag, add the lid and place in the sun. In the evening I add a cup of sugar, stir and pour directly into a one gallon former salad dressing contain with handle, then place in refrigerator door. They only problem is not with the product but that it was not stocked in the Temecula store predictively. To counter this issue I buy a year's supply at a time when I find it, sometimes in Arizona.

Trial and Error

Been using the regular and family size teabags for about 50 years and accidentally picked up the one gallon size recently. I read the directions and made accordingly but it was much to weak and not sweet enough. Unfortunately I microwaved too long and the bad busted. Fifteen minutes is too long, twelve is okay, but I found out ten is best, maybe eight minutes. It was still too weak so I boiled the remaining two quarts with the same teabags and it to was too weak. Next attempt I used two one-gallon bags and doubled-boiled them for the full gallon instead of boiling two quarts and adding two quarts water. After adding two cups sugar instead of 1-1/4 cups it tasted perfect. I also added a pinch of baking soda to eliminate the bitterness. I was feeling experimental so I tried it again with three one-gallon teabags and it was stronger than before but not bad. The two cups of sugar and pinch of baking soda really with their magic keeping the bitterness at bay but I prefer the previous version with two one-gallon teabags. I’ll be going back to the family-size once I run out of one-gallon bags due to personal preference and I like being able to tie-off the bags so they stay in one place. The stringless bags would be perfect in a tea maker pot. I wonder if I have to double-up the family-size bags to get the same flavor since it tastes like the tea has changed.

Lipton Gallon Tea Bags

The Lipton gallon tea bags are great for making a gallon pitcher of tea. The small tea bags are fine for a cup of tea however when consuming more than one cup at a time it prevents having to open 8 or 10 small tea bags to make a pitcher of tea. It is great to have a pitcher of fresh brewed tea in the refrigerator for family and guests. Lipton makes it so much easier with these larger tea bags and easily made with your coffee pot. Perfect size for a large pitcher of fresh tea. We love it.

I make a pitcher of Sun Tea daily and Lipton Gallon Sized Tea Bags are so much easier to use. Instead of having to remove the tabs and strings from 10 smaller tea bags I just add 1 gallon size tea bag to the water then I'm done. Great tasting tea and economical too.

USELESS SUBSTITUTION; RETURN NECESSARY

I use DECAF, die to a medical condition. You substituted, not only with caffeinated, but the name brand, rather than store brand. So, you look like you're only looking out for your bottom line, NOT your customer's requests or requirements. VERY DISAPPOINTED. 3 BAD SUBSTITUTIONS.

<makes the best home brewed iced tea!

This is a great option for those who make home brewed iced tea by the gallon all summer long - and the rest of the year as well! Each bag is equal to 4 regular tea bags, so the process is so much easier. I take 4 of the large bags and steep them for 13 minutes in 12 cups of very hot water. I use a Mr. coffee to heat the water. Then I squeeze them out with a lemon squeezer and add 1 cup of Stevia for sweet iced tea. Mix until dissolved. I add enough water to make a full gallon, stir and chill. Serve with lemon - no calories and delicious!

Makes for a really good gallon of iced tea. Its relatively inexpensive and really easy to make. Its perfect for when you are having a ton of southern friends over and they dont want water or milk but you dont want to spend your life savings on cokes for everyone.

I always drink iced tea

One time I kept getting sick when I was about 12 years old. We had to go to the hospital and they did some tests on me and they found that I had a tube out of my kidney that goes nowhere so the doctor told me I had two choices, have surgery or drink 8 8-ounce glasses of water a day. So I have to drink 8/8 ounce glasses iced tea or hot tea every day.
