Chinet! What happened to you?

Wow! Remember those ads where Chinet paper plates could hold up like real plates? Not anymore! Save your money! My wife and I have pizza Fridays - these plates soak up grease like a paper towel and peel off chunks of paper if you’re trying to get melted cheese off them. YECHH! Tonight I was warming up some corn tortillas with taco meat. Took my first bite - YECHH! The taste and smell was like burned cardboard. I thought it was the tortillas. NO! It was the Chinet plate that passed that taste onto my food. I’m not sure what happened to a generationally great product, but it’s sad and disgusting.

Warped and discoloration

I’m usually very happy with all Chinet products but these 10 3/8 dinner plates I ordered online were warped and discolored in some areas. The whole package was like this. The warped parts were concave so the plate was not a flat surface to eat off of. Then there were what appeared to be bubbles on certain areas. Also there were light yellowish water stain or just stains not sure they were water on them too. I went back to my receipt online to try and return them and there wasn’t an option to do that for this particular item….very strange.

JUNK - leaks right through

For years I thought Chinette was "the good stuff" a tad more spendy but the higher quality. We decided to reach for them instead of the cheaper option and I will never reach for them again. These plates are only good for sandwiches or other dry meals with no sauces or cutting required. They do not hold up as well as the plastic coated (cheaper) counterparts. These will be going up to the campground to be used outside and tossed in the fire when done.

What's with the brown stains?

Majority of the plates had brown stains on it when I opened it and looked through them. I returned them Won't buy again.

Disappointed not leak proof

I bought the classic platter plates and used for my Christmas Eve dinner. So disappointed liquid seeped thru the plate to the table cloth and table.
