I use these for a variety of reasons, around the kitchen, serving lunch, extra plates during dishes, on picnics and to the beach. We use the 12 inch plates but mostly the 8 inch size. Saves washing dishes.

The description says they are in home compostable. But when you look at the package it says they are compostable in industrial facilities which do not exist in most communities
