We're sorry that this has been your experience, Vicky, as this product has gone through many quality checks so that you can enjoy great scent and softness. We'll be sure to pass this feedback along, and we'd like to share some tips so that you can get the best results. Make sure to dose the correct amount of product, as incorrect dosage may cause too little scent to remain after the wash. To get the softness we'd expect, make sure the load isn't too large and that you add the fabric conditioner to the final rinse cycle. We hope this helps, and please give us a call at (800) 688-7638 if you'd like further assistance.
