i have to say first of all when you made the simple pleasures lavender vanilla I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS NEW LAVENDER SERENITY IS TERRIBLE!!!!!!!! I ALWAYS USED THE LAVENDER VANILLA AND I GOT MORE COMPLIMENTS ON HOW GOOD MY CLOTHES SMELLED,BUT NOT KNOW AND I UNDERSTAND WHY!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE BRING BACK THE OTHER SOFTNER (LAVENDER VANILLA) I AGREE WITH ALL THE OTHER REVIEWS THANKS

why would anyone change a product that was so highly sought after? vanilla serenity smells nothing like my (favorite for years) vanilla lavender scent that was discontinued. i am so dissappointed!!! i am switching to another brand for now- that smells closer to it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this lavender and vanilla bliss scent. Very relaxing and long lasting. Even after a hard day at work my clothes still smell amazing after using Downy softener. I love the diamond lid and bottle that it is packaged in looks beautiful sitting up in my cabinet. Downy also made my clothes feel extra soft.

I have never posted a product review but was compelled to do so when I began to not be able to find the lavender and vanilla original scent. I read through all of the posts and subconsciously did a market analysis. Middle aged and older women who had used the original product seem to be the most upset. One poster has seven kids! There are five active members in my household who generate a whole lot of LAUNDRY....I am a busy working professional and do not spend much time debating fabric softener scents...however, the first time my tween aged daughter insisted I smell the original scent of vanilla and lavender-well...it was LOVE. My other daughter,age 14 came over to shut us up, as she was embarrassed at the scene we were making right in the grocery store aisle!! We offered her a sniff and she forgot about being embarrassed and was an on the spot convert. To be honest, fabric softener is a luxury item in my household. But from that day forward, the entire product line became a necessity. There is two generations of faithful customers who just can't settle for mediocracy when the original was, well just so much better. Please put me on a list to notify if the original scent is reintroduced. Until then, there is a whole lot of lonely laundry in TN.

WOW WHY WOULD SUCH A BIG COMPANY MAKE A HORRENDOUS MISTAKE IN TAKING A VERY POPULAR SOFTENER AND CHANGE IT ? IF VANILLA & LAVENDER IS DONE THEN SO AM I WITH DOWNY AND SO MANY PEOPLE THAT I HAVE TEXT BELIEVE ME, WE WANT IT BACK!!!!! I WOULDN'T EVEN GIVE THIS ONE STAR BUT YOU MAKE US TO DO THIS REVIEW.

I can't believe I'm writing a review on a fabric softener, but this stuff is AWFUL. I don't even want to give it ONE star. Why do you keep changing formulas, and what was wrong with the old Lavender/Vanilla? PLEASE, BRING BACK THE LAVENDER & VANILLA FRAGRANCE!!

I am very disappointed that the original Lavender Vanilla Scent is unavailable. However, it seems that Febreeze has taken over this scent in other products. I use their air spray and sheet spray in the same fragrance. I think it will help Febreeze. Too bad for Downy.

I grabbed the old familiar purple bottle thinking it was the wonderful lavender and vanilla scent that I was used to. To my dismay this was nothing like the old scent this has to much of a perfume and unnatural or fake scent to it. The old was comforting, natural and spa like and just made you feel calm and relaxed. I am returning this and I will not buy this anymore. Please bring back the old scent!!!!!

I absolutely love this scent! I have the laundry room full of this, and I just pick up clean clothes out of the dryer, and smell them....I really love it. I also bought the Dawn Dishwashing liguid, simple pleasures in the same scent...and now my kitchen smells as good as my laundry!! Thanks Downy Jabrady

I love lavender smell, but this is the worse of all your fabric softeners. I doesn't hold the fragrace after the wash and I have always looked forward to my towels and sheets after they have been washed. I bought a large bottle of the product and I can't wait til it is gone. I am only 1/3 through. I may just dump it and buy a new bottle of something else.
