Don’t be fooled by imitation or knock off-brands. I recently caught a cold and had a lot of congestion (which is rare). I made the mistake of buying off brands which didn’t help and I wasn’t getting better. Within two days of buying Mucinex, I saw a noticeable difference and feel so much better. I think this product works really well to help breaks up congestion for more productive coughing. You do need to drink plenty of fluids for it to be effective. Because it is extreme release in that it works over time, it can’t be chewed or crushed, although I wouldn’t want to anyway as it is bitter. It’s fairly reasonable in cost, but the active ingredient is the most important thing you want to look for, as you can find it in other forms of medication as well, such as syrups.

My husband uses this a lot, and it works for him. It sometimes works for me, sometimes not. It's his goto for any congestion and he takes it often. I wish it worked as well for me. It can be expensive, especially if you are taking it for a period of time.

An allergist recommended I take this for severe congestion. They said it would 'get all the gunk out' and it did. Unfortunately, I coughed a lot of it up and developed a bit of a lingering cough afterwards. Also, this medication is meant to clear you out and dry you up. It works! So you have to drink lots of water when you're taking it. Stay hydrated.

This will do the trick for any cold! It also has no taste and is easy to take in pill form! I love that you only need to take it once every 12 hours, much easier to remember!

I’ve had a few people recommend this product when I’m sick. I’ve tried it a few times and it’s never made any difference for me. I’m better off with a cup of tea.
