While the taste hasn’t really changed over the years, I personally prefer a chunkier, more flavorful sauce. The Traditional Ragu feels a bit too bland and flat on its own, and I found myself needing to add extra ingredients like sausage and seasoning to bring it to life. Straight from the jar, it doesn’t quite deliver the richness I look for in a pasta sauce. I probably wouldn’t purchase the Traditional variety again, but I’d be interested in trying some of Ragu’s chunkier or heartier options to see if they better match my taste. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] the ragu traditional pasta sauce has that classic tomato flavor my family expects from a weeknight pasta dinner. it is rich with a hint of sweetness and mild enough that i can dress it up with extra herbs or garlic when i want, or serve it as is when i need dinner on the table fast. the jar is practical and easy to store, and i like that it is clear so you can see exactly what you are getting. the ingredient list is simple and familiar, which makes me feel good about using it for quick family meals. it is versatile enough to work in everything from spaghetti to baked ziti to pizza night, and the texture is smooth with just enough small tomato pieces to give it some body without being overly chunky. it clings well to pasta and heats evenly, so it always comes together nicely.

I usually use a different jarred sauce and haven't had Ragu in a long time, but I was pleasantly surprised. I really liked that it was a mostly smooth sauce. It did have a couple of tiny pieces of onions that I didn't care for, but there weren't enough to stop me from enjoying the overall sauce. I used it to make a pizza and it was great! Think this will become a new staple in my pantry.

And let me tell you they came out amazing! It has a slight bitter taste but that is with everything tomato that a lil bit of sugar can't dull out. The jar it came in a thick glass jar, there is no breaking that baby!

The flavor is rich, smooth, and well-balanced, with that comforting homemade taste. I love that it’s made with olive oil and real vine-ripened tomatoes, you can really taste the difference. It paired perfectly with seafood, but I can imagine it working well with just about anything. Definitely keeping a jar of this in my pantry from now on! Packaging is beautiful and easy to open.
