They can easily open by the child with the pull away tabs on sides. Reliable and and durable for our needs. They do need a softer feel around the waist hence losing a star on rating.

The material is very soft, it has a stretchy and comfortable waist, also on the legs the material is stretchy and comfortable. The material is not noisy when she moves or walks. We use them for our daughter Will, continuing to work on potty training and they gave us so much peace of mind while traveling. Between buses, planes, long lines and being away from our normal routine, I loved knowing she had extra protection in case of an accident. They were easy for her to pull up and down, comfortable to wear and still helped her stay aware during potty training. The learning layer is such a helpful feature because it supports the process without making travel feel stressful.
