I purchased this set on Saturday December 14 since I have been watching it for a couplke weeks now. We went in Saturday to purchase a TV that was marked down and saw that the set iI had been eyeing was marked down to $69 and it was a no brainer. The only thing that I kicked myself for was not buying three sets, one to keep in each car. Im hoping that it will get marked down again in the next coming months so i can purchase the 2 extra sets

I am not a mechanic, and as such I do not invest in expensive tools. Which is a catch 22, pay up for quality or pay for the same item twice. I am doing exactly that. I had the members mark set and after about 3 years of abuse, the ratchet that I use most of the time broke. So I ordered this set without giving it too much thought. Overall the set looks to be well made, time will be the ultimate judge of dependability. I knocked off one star because the sockets were most in disarray when I opened them and I had to organize them. During this time I found a 10 mm socket that has zero markings. Hopefully it never gets displaced because I will have zero idea where it belongs.

You simply will not find a better tool set at this price anywhere. The tools are made in the USA and have a lifetime warranty. They are very well made, as well or better than a similar Craftsman set that I have. The fact that the wrenches are the ratchet style wrenches makes this set that much better than other similar Craftsman or Dewalt sets. This is an excellent starter set for any new DIY or the perfect set when you need to grab a set of tools for the road

The 3/8 drive universal joint basically fell apart upon being removed from the case for the first time. One of the pins holding it together fell out. I called Channellock and they told me that they don't manufacture or warranty this tool set. They gave me a number for a place called Allied Tools. The number went to voice-mail. I didn't leave a message. I packed up the tool set and returned it as I no longer had confidence in the tools or the warranty.

So my last mechanic set was stolen it was a cheep 235$ AutoZone set and that being said I’ve had a few other sets over the years and this is by far the best set I’ve had I’m also a aviation mechanic so I know bad and good tools am I saying this it’s the best on the market no but compared to any other set that’s 200 pieces at 100$none come close I saw people saying the case was bad or the tools were not labeled I checked all my tools there all marked and as for the sockets falling out I did notice that you got to put them in on a angle to get them to lock

I have a few very nice tool sets and got this one for my truck because it seemed to have a nice case, and ChannelLock is a quality brand. I was very pleasantly surprised at the value in this set. Even a cheapo Harbor Freight set or sets would cost this much for what you get, and these are really quality tools. These are not chrome molybdenum, but if they were they would cost vastly more. The ratchets work very smoothly. The case is durable and won't leave you with a bunch of tools and no case. It has real hinges and latches. If these go on sale I'm getting a few more sets for my sons, and maybe another one for myself.
