My love and appreciation for this smooth yet bold dark roast goes back to my grandmother. A Baton Rouge native, she had her coffee delivered from Louisiana to her Tallahassee home monthly. She made it in a drip coffee pot, letting the water slowly filter through the grounds. It was so strong! She always enjoyed it black, no sweetener, in a white porcelain demitasse cup. The coffee was on sale but I didn’t find out why until I got home. It was about to expire. I hate that now I feel like I’ve got to check all the expiration dates on everything I purchase. I would expect that at the dollar store but not Sam’s club.
