While they are both insulated about the same at the same price, I choose this one. Both seemed strong enough to sit on the lids which was a must have. The handles and drains seem durable on both. The BJ cooler has cheap plastic latches and flimsy plastic flex hinges. This one has friction closure but a much better pinned plastic hinge that should last longer.

It does not hold ice like it says it does. It says it holds ice for 7 days. I put 40 lb of ice in this thing with sodas and beer and I had to refill it with ice every day and drain the water because the ice melted. It was inside my air conditioned motorhome we used it basically as a coffee table cuz it was so big and we couldn't get it out the door once it was filled with ice and beer and soda. Was a complete nightmare having to drain all the water out every day and add new ice. This got returned this was horrible!

Kept ice for 48 hours which is as long as we needed it. Extra large

It's a great size, however it does not have a handle or wheels to pull. That was the downfall.
