[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a good size for me based on how much baking soda I use for laundry and cat litter purposes, but the zip-lock type closure leaves a lot to be desired because the treads get clogged with fine baking soda dust. This is one product that could genuinely benefit from plastic tub reusable packaging. Out of all the products that come packaged in plastic tubs, it seems like baking soda would be a great candidate, and it doesn't have to be earth-unfriendly if you keep the tub forever and repurpose it over and over.

I just purchased this item ...the 13.5 lb size today. I am going to make my own laundry detergent and i see you can use it on multiple things but the packaging said nothing about baking and i was wondering if this is the same item that you can use in baking?
