I’m so glad Sam’s is still selling this, online if not in the store. I take it every day and have for over a decade. It is effective in keeping my “gut flora” intact so that I am not plagued with gastrointestinal problems.

They contain friendly microbes that help your gut do its thing & reduce annoying pain, gas, & unpredictable stool consistency. Such symptoms may indicate irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). If you have lactose intolerance, you need a lactase enzyme tablet. The symptoms may also signal severe colon diseases--inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), gluten enteropathy (aka celiac sprue), & Crohn's disease--likely requiring a gastroenterologist's ongoing care. If you don't have such symptoms fairly often to begin with, skip this product & eat a healthier diet. If you do need to take a product like this on an ongoing basis, I have found this one to be the most effective--better than Align. And, conveniently, it doesn't need refrigeration.
