I had a rebound effect. My eyes were even redder after the drops wore off, which makes it highly addictive.  I would need to keep using it to get rid of red eyes.

It can make your red eyes worse!

I use Lumify during the Spring - early Autumn seasons to tamp-down my red eyes due to allergies. It does what says: results within a minute, lasts for hours. My ophthalmologist says it's totally safe, and is actually a weak version of a common glaucoma drop.
