Just as good with lower sugar

The lower sugar oatmeal is sweetened with monk fruit extract, and it leaves a horrible aftertaste just like artificial sweetener.  I tasted it with the first bite.  Since the fact that the front reads lower sugar one might think it is the regular oatmeal and just less sugar, but not so.  As soon as I tasted it I went to the fine print and read the ingredients, and found that it is sweetened with monk fruit extract.   I personally think that should be on the front where it reads lower sugar.

Lesson learned: Always read the ingredients!

My mother who has dementia has an awful sweet tooth (refuses to eat anything not sweet) and forgets that she eats. This is a great way to make certain she's eating well and also getting her 'sweet tooth' craving fulfilled. She never noticed when I switched from the regular to the lower sugar variety.
