We don’t love it…

The hidden vegetable extracts (purple carrot in particular) is an allergen in this family. I didn’t realize until after I purchased it and nearly gave it to someone who cannot have carrots. What happened to just putting maple/brown sugar and oats in this?!?! Why the additional flavourings that are not necessary?

Definitely not as good anymore. Fairly unappealing

I was wondering why, after buying this for the first time in a long while, that this didn’t hit the same as it did. Then I found out they changed the recipe. Definitely not my favorite anymore and growing up I loved maple and brown sugar. Don’t recommend this and I encourage you to change it back to how it was.

What is the horrific bleach smell

Oats are supposed to have an earthy smell depending on what flavor you get but there's a smell when you microwave them or when you cook them that has this bleachy odor and this is the fourth box I bought that smell like that. I'm beginning to think this is just a new product and it's scaring me I don't want to eat a product that smell like this what did you do to it?

You changed the recipe again?

10-15 years ago you changed the recipe and your customers responded with complaints and lack of sales. So you responded with the "classic recipe" moniker on the box with the original recipe. Now you've done it again! It tastes like garbage again. Did you not learn? Change it back or lose more customers, again.

So disappointed

I was a fan of the M and BS flavor instant oatmeal, and ate it every day! The recipe change a few years back and I couldn't stand the taste of it. Classic came into the picture and I was again a daily consumer, but now I am no longer able to locate the Classic. I would buy it bulk if I could find it. Now I mostly just eat toast for breakfast, while hoping the classic will return.

Anyone else noticed the change?

I have been a satisfied daily consumer of Quaker Original instant oatmeal for years each morning and was surprised recently when not only had there been a change in the box color, but the contents of the packets had been changed. Uncooked it looked the same, but after preparing it was mushy and bland and tasteless and lacked the character that the former version had. That's the only way I can describe it and it's a disappointing change. Has anyone else had this unfortunate experience and what does Quaker have to say about it? I downgrade it from 5 stars to one star.

Surprised!

I haven't eaten oatmeal in years because I never really cared for it but in an effort to eat healthier breakfasts, I decided to buy some and try to force it down. SURPRISE! I didn't have to force it down, I loved it! Now I look forward to trying some other flavors!

It's All Good!

Mmmm-Sooo goood! I really love eating Quakers Maple and Brown Sugar oatmeal, It's my favorite. It doesn't matter the time of day, whether for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or I'll even have some for a midnight snack. I like the lower sugar one as well. It's all so good!

New taste is not great

Hands down my favorite breakfast food as I can't eat eggs. Just this morning I got some of the new recipe and it was shocking enough of a different taste to make me go online. I don't taste any brown sugar or maple. I keep seeing people talk about maple syrup but do you know you can get granular maple sugar? I always assumed that was what was mixed in the past. The new taste isn't terrible, it definitely tastes more like slow cook oats, which again, isn't bad but not what I expected or wanted. Its unpleasant enough for me to write a poor review. Since I can't eat eggs, wheat or honey, might just have to make my own oatmeal.

Clumps of brown sugar?

I too have ate this brand for years. I agree with the previous comment where are the brown sugar cups? Another thing that has really turned me off is the occasional piece of black something when I smash it against my bowl with a spoon it almost seems as if it’s an insect. Completely turned my stomach and turned me off. I use to enjoy eating this because it’s good for your heart and healthy for your body. Please improve the recipe Quaker. Hopefully not too many grammar issues as I was not able to go back and review my review!
