The great seals make little difference if the bag leaks in the corners. We have stored, for example, liver in the freezer in a gallon Ziploc bag. When we take it out to the refrigerator for thawing we have blood all over the refrigerator shelf because the bag leaks. This is not a one time deal.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We use only ziploc freezer bags so I was interested to see if these stay open design bags actually worked. Well, they do and they don't. Point being, they seem the same as the current ziploc freezer bags we already use. The only difference seems to be the indented lines on the bags that show you where to fold the top and where the bottom should lay. Let's be honest, they look exactly like the regular ones and when I fold the regular ones in the same spot, they stand up when filled in the same way. I was expecting these to have a flat bottom to stand up and they don't. No need to spend more money on these, just get the regular ziploc freezer bags.

I've used ziploc freezer bags for years. But the new style "easy open" version is terrible and you've lost me as a customer once my current stock is gone. I always reused them multiple times, by turning them inside out to thoroughly wash them. Now not only can you not do that without tearing them along the seam, you can barely open them without tearing. There are few replacements that work as well but not only in the interest of sustainability but also because I'm tired of being ripped off by planned obsolescence, I'll have to find a new way to store things I want to keep fresh and dry.

It has a line that helps you to know exactly where to fold the bags over to unlock the feature of the bag staying open while you place things inside. I find this feature most useful for placing meat inside to freeze, fruits, veggies or any liquids that need to be poured in like soup. There is still a section on the outside the bag to label what you have placed inside. It closes easily as a push zip close. Strong thick bags and a gallon size is perfect for adding a large quantity. Experienced no freezer burn on the food I froze inside of the bags. I would recommend it highly to friends and family who freeze different food items. I first tried it with chopped onions and peppers. I also used the bags for sliced fruit and meat products such as chicken breast.
