My wife and I are empty-nesters. Preparing meals is often challenging because repetitively cooking only small amounts of food is redundant and time consuming. Cooking larger portions and storing leftovers is commonly the answer. Ziploc bags are the ideal and economical solution for storing leftovers.

These are great for some many things besides leftovers. Bought bulk size spices, flour, cornmeal, and put out quart and snack size ziplocks st our food pantry so people could get these basic cooking ingredients to brighten so much of the processed food they get.

I have used Ziploc freezer bags forever. I trust and use them for long term as well as short term freezer storage. Long term use is done by packing food in the freezer bag and pushing out every bit of air that you can. Then wrap 2 layers thick in Butcher/ Freezer paper, Tape closed with blue painters tape (My choice) and write the contents on the outside and freeze. I have 1 1/2 yr old food that comes out like the day I froze it. Prices may vary as we all know. Sam's: Ziploc freezer bags cost me $16.78 in September for 216 bags. W.Mart: The closest I could come to what I bought in this review was Grip and seal 75 bags for $10.82 in store. I got 141 more bags for $5.96 more. That's $0.08 per bag compared to $0.14 per bag. To get the same exact product from W.M. I would have had to order through W.M.+ online shipping and the cost as stated at the time of this review as stated on the website $31. to $33.+.

I received these bags as a free sample and they are great! The only problem I have is trying to keep them standing and open while I fill them. Sometimes it works and other times the bag keeps falling or won't stay open. Love the slider to close them. I would buy these in the future.

Product is great but now I cannot get it shipped to me because of outrageous shipping costs. I always had it shipped to me because it was so convenient but now since they change their shipping policy the shipping cost is more than the product itself. Won’t be ordering anything from Sam’s anymore. It’s ridiculous!

I just received this and put it to work right away. I had some fresh fruit I wanted to freeze. I used the medium sized quart bags and they really work well. The thickness of the bag reassures me that there will be no freezer burn and the zip slider opener/closer makes it so easy to do and less messy than when my hands are went and I have to squeeze the two sides together. If you want to do freezing right, use Ziploc Slider freezer bags.

I use these every year to package my tamales and peeled green chili and then freeze. They are nice and thick and freeze my items well. I also use them for everyday use. These are so durable you can wash them and reuse them if you're in a bind and need to save some money.

I am very disappointed with these freezer bags. The last two boxes that I've purchased have had holes in them. I didn't notice it until I've taken out of the freezer and my food was freezer burnt! Very expensive for what we got! I have always been an avid user of Ziploc products but will now be switching to another brand!

I have tried all sorts of brands. This is easy to seal and has the color zipper so you can see it is closed. I like this one because it is easy to open and it doesn't have a zipper which drives the per-unit cost up. Bag is durable - works in the freezer or in the bottom of my briefcase as to collect pens and toys.

Good idea but I have used 12 of the 24 freezer gallon bags and every one has a really bad plastic "zipper pull". It doesn't stay on, when it comes off you have to open the bag and throw it away. Argh! Never buying these again. Good idea, bad execution.
