Very disappointed in that it says it will take 12 sheets at a time. It maybe will take 6. There is no warning light to tell you its heating up so it Jams quite frequently. I am shredding a large amount. I figure it will be fine for every day stuff . I suggest if you have a lot on a regular basis to upgrade. Also, consider this model for SMALL home office use.

I purchased this to use in my 1-person office. I loved it...the size was perfect, it's quiet, and it did what it was supposed to do...until yesterday. I've only had it a couple months and don't ever push the limits. Yesterday it just stopped working. What a disappointment!

This model is not easy to feed. I dont think you CAN get 12 sheets in the feeder. It is fairly small. I wore out a competitors model of the same characteristics. I am a little unsure about its power. I have run one+ scredder drawers through it and I am not so happy about it. I like power and ease of use. I cannot give this model high scores and am thinking of taking it back.

After 3 months and very occasional use I had a pile of papers to shred. Being aware that these machines strip gears easily I limited the shredding to no more that 3 sheets at a time. Before my pile was done the motor burned out. Unbelievable low quality junk. I returned the shredder and bought the $99 Fellows shredder. Keeping my fingers crossed!

After my last shredder died under the pressure of home shredding, I took my time researching for a new shredder. This Royal shredder is perfect for what I was looking for. It fits nicely between my desk and the cabinet next to my desk and is on convenient casters. It shreds paper very well and is quite a bit quieter than my last shredder. The price at Sam's makes this an excellent deal, and I am very satisfied with this purchase.

I bought one of these and the photo sensor that makes it run when you put paper in it, broke. I took it apart and tried to find the part online with no luck. I will buy buying a different brand for my next shredder. Last about a year and I only used it about once a week, very light duty.

If you purchase this, keep your receipt. The motor burned out after shredding a single credit card. The bin was only 30% full and that consists of the entire life of this shredder. I bought this to replace the Fellows shredder that lasted me 8 years.

This is a fine medium-duty shredder, and a great buy. My 10 year old Royal finally gave up the ghost after faithful service and a share of abuse. I seem to remember I got that one at Sam's too, and it was a good deal then. Went shopping locally,and no one came close to this price for a similar decent shredder for home use. At least $10-$20 more. Unpacking and assembly is very easy. The only "assembly" required is inserting the wastebasket into it's place. Nice size, clean, modern design, looks nice. Simple controls, just leave it on "auto" for normal operation. I was immediately impressed with how quiet this one is compared to my older unit. Then I noticed that it shreds quite fast - very smooth, quick, no drama. It takes 2-3 letter-size sheets no problem. I have actually shredded whole envelopes of junk mail (within reason) with no trouble. Haven't tried credit cards but I would expect it to take care of them as well. It does an excellent shredding job, which is, after all, the whole idea. Items are reduced to tiny shreds, with absolutely nothing identifiable remaining. The waste basket is easy to remove and empty. Small things - the casters might work on a hard floor, forget it on carpet. I wish the little well surrounding the shredder opening were a little wider, to make inserting papers a little less fiddly. And like all shredders of this type, it's top-heavy. When you remove the basket for emptying, it feels a little flimsy with the big heavy motor unit balanced on top... Really not a lot to complain about, and at this price it would be hard to find a better shredder in this class.

this is our second shreeder from this company. holds up well, Like the removable basket to make dumping the paper easy.

Have had this a month or so and have had no issues with it. Like how I can see through the basket to see how full it is.
