You can use a blender to blend fresh strawberries or use freeze dried strawberries (put them in a blender to get the powder form). You do need to pre-freeze beforehand though—it's not one of the models where you can just make it on the spot. Everything is intuitive. The only thing I have to remember is which side the blade goes, but there is a diagram to show you. The process took around 3 minutes. The noise is pretty loud, but not any louder than a blender or a vacuum. Just a reminder the bottom of the machine has suction cups to stabilize. So if you were trying to move the machine it doesn't budge, that's why.

It comes with a very clear and easy-to-follow booklet of instructions, complete with pictures. I thoroughly studied the instructions before attempting my first homemade ice cream. Although, I have never owned an ice cream maker before, my family of five spends a significant amount of money each month on store-bought vanilla ice cream. We are big fans of ice cream desserts like banana split, Italian spaghetti ice cream, and German delicious hot raspberry sauce with vanilla ice cream. So you can imagine which flavor I decided to make first with this machine? Of course vanilla! After mixing all the ingredients (I use a hand mixer for a few minutes for a quick process), I filled the two containers that the product comes in with. I then left it in the freezer overnight, recommended for 24 hours. Just make sure, do not exceed the max line on the containers, it's important. The ice cream maker has a display where you can select a program, ice cream, sorbet, frozen yogurt, gelato, or smoothie bowl. Simply press start, and it takes only 3-5 minutes to run. I read about other brands that take 30 minutes or longer to process ice cream, so I'm pleased with NutriBullet for its quick processing and the ability to choose the desired consistency. The noise level is tolerable. The texture that comes after is softer, that why I like to put it back in the freezer for a few more hours. All parts are easy to disassemble and clean. I just use warm water and a little dish soap. The brand offers a one-year limited warranty or an optional three-year warranty extension. I highly recommend it, it's a great value and a perfect gift for any ice cream enthusiast.

My wife and I made maple vanilla bean gelato the other day and it was the most delicious gelato I have had. The instructions are simple and easy to understand. You mix the solution, let it freeze over night for 24 hours, and then put it in the machine and within 5 minutes you are in heaven. You need to try this product

The ice cream did not turn out great probably due to user error with tempering the eggs. It is a little big and heavy for storing something specifically for ice cream. Was easy to clean with a quick rinse. Very loud but overall good product.

I wanted a way to make icecream, gelato and other various frozen treats for a healthier way to indulge knowing what ingredients are added and more fun for the whole family to be involved in the process. This was so easy to use, fast and made delicious treats each and every time! I wish I could upload more than 5 photos to this because we've done both ice cream and gelato now several times and it's absolute perfection, delicious and the perfect texture and consistency each and every time. It was so easy to use straight out of the box, no assembly required really! Its design is so sleek, modern and doesn't take up much counter space at all and you can easily store it in a cabinet if you don't want it on the counter. It was extremely easy to clean after use as well which was huge for me having a low maintenance machine. I would highly recommend this!

It also didn't take long to blend it and it's super user friendly when using it. The machine also isn't super big so it doesn't take up to much room.

My first attempt, the liquid wasn't freezing even though it was there for 24 hours. My second attempt was the product freezes however, doing the process of making it become ice cream, I got water liquid instead. Also, during each attempt, I keep getting a warning saying to "check the blade". Overall, this product has great potential and I will keep trying until I get perfection. I love design of this product and can't wait to make more summer treats. It was very easy to assemble and the noise wasn't too loud.
