Unnecessary if you have a Garmin watch

I was really excited to get the Garmin Cirqa as a screenless health tracker. I already have a Garmin Forerunner 265 to track my activity and sleep, and was planning to use both together. Since I already have the watch, the cirqa really doesn't add much else for me and is pretty redundant. I could see the benefit if I didn't have a Garmin watch already, but it doesn't make sense to have both.

Nice band,

I bought the CIRQA, when it was launched, so I have been using it for a month now. Everything has been fine so far, but the reason a gave it 4 stars is because: the battery life, it only last 7 days at the most, not the 10 days advertised. And I don't even record activities with it, nor do I have the Pulse Ox, on all the time, only while sleeping. For a device that doesn't have a screen, the battery life should be longer than 10 days or at the very least, the 10 days it was advertised. The other thing is that, it must have a bug or something, because it keeps telling me that “my bed time is approaching”, when in reality, my bed time is still 11 hours away. Those were the cons, now the pros: -Is very light. -If the band gets wet, it dries quickly, even if worn. -It charges very fast, it takes like 20 mins to go from 5% to 100%. -So far, it has synchronized with the Connect App, with no problems. -Is very accurate with the steps counting. -It has been detecting my naps, something my other Garmin watches, struggled with. Overall I'd say that I'm happy with it, is doing what I intended and purchased for which is, to keep recording my everyday/lifestyle data, without having to wear my beloved but bulky Forerunner or Fenix. For my hard core workouts, I'm still wearing my Forerunner 965, and all keep doing it until it dies on me.

Not ready for prime time…

Good idea but so far software / hardware bugs have tainted the experience. Alarms don't work, have to shutoff/turn back on device after a charge, poor recognition of activities, and poor battery life. Example: Using device only in the evenings/night with pulse ox on only during sleep and I get 4 to 5 days between charges. Not good…. Great product for my use case (supplement for forerunner965) but to date the device is not living up to my expectations nor Garmin's own specifications. At least not yet - really looking forward to a software update. This update's performance will indicate what I do next with the Cirqa. 🙏🏻

No screen, NO SUBSCRIPTION FEES for YOUR Data

Big elements first - this one device captures all the health and exercise data I am use to from Garmin but with no distracting screen. I have had it for about 2 weeks and have recharged once (mainly because it was down to 10% right before going to bed). It is a great passive collector of data points. Be aware it does NOT have its own GPS, so you must piggyback off your connected phone. I've noticed that it does not really track 'Intensity Minutes' which is a Garmin Unit but in return I am getting HRV, Training Load, and Training Readiness scores. Purchased this for several reasons. I am a long time Garmin product user and view most of my health related data via their Garmin Connect app and I trust the information it is giving me. Especially with Garmin new investment in Training Peaks, I am excited about what I learn. Also, I like traditional wrist watches and now I can wear both. And finally unlike competitors, NO SUBSCRIPTION fee!!!

Love the flexibility this device affords me!

I think Garmin has knocked it out of the park with their initial foray into the screenless health tracker market. The dedicated activity start button sets them apart from the competition. Thus far, I have found the CIRQA to be extremely comfortable and it has served the purpose for which I purchased it perfectly. This device allows me to wear traditional mechanical watches to work during the day without losing my ability to track my health metrics. It has also proven to be a more comfortable sleep tracking option than wearing my Fenix 8 overnight. The only constructive feedback I have at this point is that the automatic activity recognition is a bit wonky. On one of my runs, I had to stop at an intersection for traffic and it ended my workout and I was not aware until I got home. I'm sure the developers at Garmin will sort this with future firmware updates. Overall, well done on this device, Garmin!

Definitely a fan of the Cirqa!

I've had the Cirqa for a little over 2 weeks now, and, coming from a Whoop, I've got to say it has been great! It gives me all the same information I had before and love how it consolidates all my fitness into a single app. I also have an Approach S50 watch and easily switch between the two devices when I'm playing golf. I've had no issues with the Cirqa tracking my health metrics throughout the day, as well as sleep at night, and it's nice to not be locked into a subscription. I will say that I wish it didn't use the charging plug and had some sort of wireless charging method instead. It's not a huge deal since I typically charge it up while I'm wearing my S50, but the ability to wear and charge the Whoop at the same time is hard to leave. The Cirqa wears just as well for me, if not better than, the Whoop. I have a 7.5" wrist, so the additional length of this device doesn't bother me. It seems to wear a little flatter on my wrist as well, which I definitely appreciate. All that said, I really wish it were a little smaller or at least had built-in GPS given the size. It's for sure not as large as other reviews I've read would make it out to be. But, it feels like all of these screenless trackers aren't all that much smaller than a watch.

I wanted to like it

I was waiting for this device and really excited to get one. From day 1, I had issues. Wore it for 4 nights. Night 1, acidentally triggered pairing mode, purple flashing light, took it off. Still flashing in morning. Night 2, it was at 100% when I put it on before bed. By morning, the battery had dropped to 40%. A 60% battery loss in one night seems excessive. Night 3, the device was fully charged again. I put it on at approximately 10:30 p.m. and went to sleep around midnight. Shortly before bed, it began flashing green. I assumed the flashing would stop, but it continued. At approximately 12:40 a.m., the CIRQA vibrated, waking me. It stopped on its own. It vibrated again at approximately 1:40 a.m., at which point I removed it for the remainder of the night. Night 4, no isses, zero data transmitted Day 5 - returned device.

CIRQA MAJOR ISSUES WITH GARMIN IPHONE APP

There is a major Issue between the Garmin computer programs and the iPhone app. - The Garmin computer program refers you to the iPhone for syncing, but it is nearly impossible to find it if the app has already found another Garmin watch. At this point, I consider it a waste of money and not ready for prime time.

A must if you are in the Garmin ecosystem

This is exactly what I was looking for to compliment my existing portfolio of Garmin products. I am a long distance endurance triathlete that uses the Fenix watch for all of my swim and running data, and use a Garmin bike computer for my bike data. What I was missing was something that I could wear all day long and most importantly at night, to track all of my daily metrics. Wearing a watch to bed is just uncomfortable and I would end up taking it off on my nights and therefore my recovery data wasn't consistent or accurate. This device is incredibly lightweight, the band is of a good quality, and the technology is exactly what I was looking for. One of the unforeseen advantages has been the fact that I now pretty much only wear my watch when I'm about to perform exercises and not having a digital interface with me at all times has been very freeing. It does not capture GPS unless you pair it with your phone, which I have done when walking our dog, but other than that, I'm incredibly happy. I've been a Garmin user for over 14 years now and didn't want to get a wearable that wasn't in the Garmin ecosystem because it would just create to many headaches trying to sync data across multiple platforms. Thank you Garmin for finally producing this wearable, I'm very appreciative.

Missed opportunity

Just bought it wore it for a week and had to stop wearing it. The sensor on the band sticks out, it's like a little bump, but it irritates your wrist so badly. Even if you wear it looser or move it around, it doesn't matter, very big design flaw. If the sensor was flat like the Fitbit models, this would be amazing. Pretty good app, very disappointed. I had high hypes.
