They also minimize odors from those leaks. I had got sick and didn't get to wash clothes so i ran out of underwear and I used these instead until I finished washing clothes. They work like a charm! Since abdominal surgery a couple of years ago I have suffered from reduced bladder control and have avoided public transport, long journeys or extended periods away from a bathroom for fear of an accident. My wife suggested trying these as it was beginning to affect our quality of life. It turns out there was nothing to fear! Depends are low profile, well fitting and for the small issues I have, leak - free. I have not been able to detect any odour and they have proved themselves more than once now. There is a slight crunch / bit of movement around the rear of the pad but under jeans or sitting down its easy to get used to. While I can't speak for anyone with more serious issues, they have been great for me and have given me back a lot of confidence.
