It has an opening in the middle where the exfoliating bar can go. The razor can be used with any of the Gillette blades. Gillette is known for high quality razor blades, and now offering an exfoliating bar takes their game to the next level. My wife and I like the exfoliating option making it seem to allow us faster shaves.

The razors is flexible allowing to contour around my face with less or no cuts at all during averyday shaving. The exfoliating technology allow for a cleaner feel after every shave. I've used many different types/brands of razors, and I believe I have found the perfect one for me. No matter what razor I tend to use, I end up with nicks and razor burn. My skin is extremely sensitive and it's hard to find a razor that doesn't irritate or cause me facial woes. Having used this particular razor for quite some time I have found a couple things of interest. First, the blades are wonderful. They cut right through facial hair without the usual "pulling" feeling. They last even longer than my usual brand as well. The exfoliating works wonders leaving my face soft, smooth and burn free. Secondly, the handle is comfortable to hold and easy to use. It has heft to it and feels solid so it can withstand a few drops by an "oopsie." The movable head works well and holds the angle needed perfectly. I love the design and color. Very modern and simple. Lastly, there's an included stand. I don't really need this (maybe you will), but it's a nice addition and actually holds the razor upright and ready to use. It could've used a spot for extra blades as well, but it's not a huge miss on their end. All in all, this is a solid razor with blades that cut great and left me feeling smooth and irritation free. Well done Gillette!

Additionally the stand allows the head (and handle) to stay rust free by allowing it to airdry completely. I highly recommend this razor.
