The blades are more expensive than other Gillette blades but its the top of the range, so its to be expected. The razor is a good design but it does not shave close enough and leaves patches. Let me explain. The top and bottom pads are raised way higher than the blades themselves which in my opinion is the reason for the bad performance.

It's just heavy enough that it doesn't get knocked over and it uses a magnetic feature for the razor to stand up. It really helps the blades last a lot longer when it gets a chance to properly dry on the stand.

No irritation on the skin after shaving and I can say it's due to the exfoliating bar that comes with the razor. I am using the Gillette Labs razor that has an exfoliating bar that saves me the extra step of having to wash my face. Really, it's genius, I mean, it's got 5 blades, it removes dirt before I shave, it's a close clean movement with each shave. What else I like is that it stands up by the magnetic base on the included stand. No more mess in the "shave tray" I use. Now, I can place this above the vanity to dry without taking up more space.
