It was a genius idea and it actually works it exfoliated my skin. The razor feels great to it nice and feels high quality. My favorite part though had to be the metal stand. I believe it's priced well and I highly recommend it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this GilletLabs with Exfoliating Bar Razor to replace my old Mach 3 that i've had for years and I was super pumped the day that it arrived. I was looking forward to finally having a new razor with an exfoliating bar and also to finally have a magnetic base for my razor! (which is probably the 2nd coolest feature of this product after to the exfoliating bar =) The first few times I used this razor I did notice a closer shave, so much so that I noticed I could almost go and extra day without shaving versus the standard 2 days I was used to with my Mach 3. However, during a couple of these initial shaves I did have the unfortunate event of cutting myself with the razor when trying to shave just below my nostrils since I believe this razor simply has 1 too blades and can't adequately fit into and shave small spaces like the stubble just below my nose. So while I still use this razor for 90% of each of my shaves i've resorted to using my Mach 3 for the hard-to-get-to areas on my face to avoid cutting myself. So other than the "1 too many blades" concern above, I am still very happy with this razor and do enjoy the close shave, exfoliating bar, and magnetic base that it comes with. If they offered a smaller version of this razor with 1 or 2 less blades i'd buy it in a heart beat. But don't get me wrong this is still a great razor and worthy of at least 4 stars! So Thank-you Gillette!

Design & Build Quality: Right out of the box, the razor looks and feels premium. The metal handle has a nice weight to it, giving it a solid, well-balanced feel in the hand. The magnetic stand is a great touch—it keeps the razor upright, clean, and ready for the next use. Performance: The built-in exfoliating bar is what sets this razor apart. It gently removes dirt and dead skin before the blades pass over, which seems to make the shave smoother and reduce irritation. I noticed fewer ingrown hairs and less redness after shaving, even on sensitive areas like the neck. Blades: The blades are incredibly sharp and last for several uses without dulling quickly. The cartridge design allows for precise control around tight spots like under the nose and along the jawline. Comfort: The shave is not only close but noticeably more comfortable than standard razors. The exfoliating bar adds a layer of pre-treatment that I didn't know I needed until I tried it. It gives a close, clean, smooth shave without any irritation to the skin. The exfoliating bar is an added bonus and takes some of the work off of the razor. The razor also pivots good which helps with the close shave and no cuts. It leaves the skin feeling clean and soft.

It's great for a quick shave, it does a fantastic job and my skin loves it. At the same time I've been happy that I can use it with other Gillette razors that I still have before I discovered the exfoliating razor.

Though the product is slightly different than the picture on the package (the blade is in the opposite of the handle as in picture). The handle feels premium and sturdy, and the exfoliating bar actually helps clear away dirt and dead skin before the blades hit, making for a smoother shave. It glides well and gives a close result with minimal irritation. I also like the magnetic stand—it's a nice touch to keep things tidy. The only downside is that the replacement blades are pretty expensive. If you don't mind paying extra, it's a great choice for an easy, upgraded shave
