The ability to connect to the internet to and use streaming services is nice, but I have to wonder if it's really necessary. Don't most TVs that people play blu rays on have this option built in? That aside, the player works as you would expect and is of the quality you would expect from Sony.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this Sony blu ray player around a month ago and I love it. It's very easy to use and set up right out of the box. It does have internet capabilities but this version is only by ethernet cable so keep that in mind. It has all the newest apps and streaming services to be downloaded and added to the player. I would recommend to anyone looking for a nice reliable sleek blu ray player!

My nieces and nephews are obsessed with watching movies and now I'm able to play anything they want with this and keep them entertained for hours. I can't believe I didn't get this sooner!!! This Blu-ray player is perfect for those who want to play disks from other regions as it's region free needed a little help from tech at first but I got it here are the instructions below. But I also wanted to mention the sleek and stylish design of the player and remote is nice. Fits well in my tv console. And I'm super happy with it! Was able to borrow a few disks from the library for my son and I and we had fun. All we need now is a new Sony tv! Haha Pressing the Yellow, Blue, or Red buttons while the player is turned off does..... drum roll..... NOTHING! (except make you mad when it doesn't work). Here is how I got mine to switch regions- to ensure I got this correct I swapped back and forth between several different discs coded for different regions- back and forth. 1) Figure out which region you need as follows... Yellow for Region A: This region covers all of North America, South America, and Southeast Asia. Blue for Region B: This encompasses Europe, Africa, Middle East, French territories, and Greenland. Red for Region C: Region which covers the rest of the world including Russia, Asia, and China. 2) Turn on Blu-ray player (menu for the player and/or streaming apps comes on TV screen). 3) Eject the tray. 4) Stick Blu-ray in the tray and DO NOT close the tray (IMPORTANT- DO NOT CLOSE THE TRAY!) 5) Press the colored button for the Region required to play the Blu-ray disc- WHILE THE TRAY IS OPEN and the Blu-ray player is turned on. 6) NOW close the tray. 7) Movie will play for the newly assigned region. 8) Eject the movie when done watching. 9) After watching a movie coded for another region, you probably want to revert back to Region A (assuming you're in the U.S.). 10) Open tray and insert a Region A (U.S.) Blu-ray and LEAVE THE TRAY OPEN!!!! 11) Press the YELLOW key for Region A (U.S.)- WHILE THE TRAY IS STILL OPEN!!! 12) Close the tray. Region A (U.S.) will play. You're now set back to where most of your Blu-rays play. 13) Eject Blu-ray. 14) Turn off the Blu-ray player and TV. Anyway I highly recommend to family and friends its a great little player and I hope my review was helpful to you!

You will notice the picture quality is enhanced which makes viewing a much more quality experience, It has a remote that controls the input and allows access to netflix/ youtube , your streaming favorites. The product is not very well made the opening and closing of the door while using the remote is an issue. This product does not come with HDMI Cable. While using the wireless option can be difficult and some apps are non-functional. This product is a great design on paper ,but it fails to deliver what is advertised.

I don't have many blu ray discs but it's nice to be able to watch them when I like. The one thing I'd really like were for it to be WiFi enabled, that would be a lot more convenient and open way more opportunities. I also like the option to use Netflix great for my grand daughter.
