I like the compact size and great picture quality; also I like that when I insert a disk my Sony 850D TV automatically switches to the HDMI input of this device. Very easy to set up.

Although I moved to digital media, I still need a multi-region player for all the international discs I acquired years ago and this player does it all. Nice compact size is a bonus.

Great quality, great sound, great bass, it is really nice, but it would be nicer to read and see the settings better on the speaker. One but not two Thumbs Up

Bought this less than a month ago and after a power outage the player would neither power off or open the disc tray, thus trapping a blue ray disc inside. The player is basically useless.

I was looking to get both a new blu-ray player, and a zone free DVD player - so it was great to be able to get them all in one. I've tried it out for both purposes and it works well.

i dont have to owen a computer to get live internet tv movies music great pitchures/sound/shop.its HDMI/BD LIVE AND Java powered. so i beleave its alive enough for me.thank you sony.

While I am generally pleased with this purchase I was disappointed that not all discs played equally well. Some discs required the volume on the receiver to be turned up significantly, others had no audio at all.

This is the third blue Ray model BDP S1700 that has failed on me. First one failed within one year. Second within one month. Now under warranty I'm on the third. Don't buy this model!!!

It does everything as expected. A bit slow to load. But the main issue is that it is not working with a Vision TV or the remote can't be programmed to be used with a Vision TV.
