I loved this pergola from the minute I saw it. So much so that we hired contractors to build a deck under it. Our yard gets a LOT of wind so I'd been searching for awhile until I came across the Hawthorne. So we ordered it in December and the four boxes sat in garage for five months waiting for their time to shine. Although the co tractors erected it, I can testify to the clear packaging and labeling. Everything was in those boxes. It is so solid and sturdy. We've had a rainy, stormy few weeks and not even a wiggle. We absolutely love it.

Looks absolutely amazing on our patio! Assembly with BILT app was remarkably simple, but of course time consuming (put together by 3 people over the course of 2 days). No missing parts, everything fit together perfectly, no misaligned holes or stripped screws. Arrives in 4 long boxes (approximately 150-200 pounds each), very manageable for 2 people. So far, we are very satisfied with this purchase and very hopeful it will stand the test of time. Satin black finish looks great and seems durable, and this provides more shade than expected. Love the included power strip as well, nice touch. Overall, this pergola exceeded our expectations and we couldn't be more pleased.

Couldn't ask for a better product or company. The pergola arrived in a couple of days, communication was great, super easy to assemble with clear instructions and everything fit together as expected. And of course, it's absolutely beautiful. Have had it a few months in intense Chicago weather and so far so good.

I bought mine on April 11th and it was delivered only days later! I did hire someone to construct it for me which only took them 4 hrs. He even suggested it to another client who ended up ordering the cedar pergola! The entire process through Backyard Discovery was seamless! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend any of their products!

Me and a friend put my pergola up yesterday. Ages 52 and 65 in decent shape but by no means athletic. We were a little apprehensive in tackling this project on our own when looking at the gazililon pieces. The directions were extremely clear - highly unusual. We didn't make a single mistake! It is stunning. The only complaint is that the shade cloth is 2-3 feet short? I don't get it. I read other reviews and I am glad that someone warned us about being careful not to drop the screws inside the cross beams because it would have been a total pain to get them out. I suggest adding a note about this into the directions. Surprisingly we didn't drop any in there. It is super sturdy too. Very high quality.

We had this installed the summer of 2021 and have loved having it. The guy who installed it really wanted us to go with a wooden pergola but we insisted on this steel one. When he was finished building it, he said he would be recommending it to others. He was very impressed. We have put a canopy cover on it, and love sitting under it enjoying our backyard.

Very pleased with Backyard Discovery overall. Shipping, no damage found on any of my Stratford 10 × 12 pergola, no missing parts, etc. Beautiful addition to my new Trex deck, Hot Springs Spa arriving this week to be placed under pergola. Very Impressed with quality of this pergola!

Love my new pergola. This is a quality product and the directions are easy enough to follow. It well built and not flimsy. I would recommend highly to anyone looking at one. The one draw back is the sun shade. It does not cover the entire top. It also has terrible tension tightening buckles. They need to come up with a better product for the shade.

. design is so pretty and I am excited about the fact it will never rust, warp or change color): We just purchased this product and it far exceeds my expectation! I was nervous about going with metal versus wood, but the quality of the product is so much better than other steel pergolas I've seen that are made of aluminum or vinyl products. This product is 100% galvanized steel and is solid. Because it is made from high-quality galvanized steel I also don't have to worry about it ever rusting, warping, or fading. The fact that I will never have to seal or stain this pergola is a huge plus for me! This pergola also comes with a power port, which is so convenient since we plan to have a bar under it. I can mix up fun drinks with my blender and have my music going! There are both USB and electrical outlets. The traditional design of the pergola is perfect and all of the joints are hidden so there is no hardware sticking out! The assembly was very easy for my husband following the directions provided in the BILT app. If I could give this product more than 5 stars I would! We bought this pergola because it fit on our current cement slab perfectly. It looks very nice. My 2 sons and myself put it together in 5 hours but it would have gone faster if we did not have to take portions apart to retrieve socket screws that fell inside cross beams. They were a little short and it was hard to hold them in place and drill at the same time. We also noticed a dent in one of the posts when construction was complete. Not sure how we missed that. The shade is too small. It doesn't provide much protection from the sun. We get south and west sun. I would like to order a larger one but couldn't find them on this site.
