Just a quick note that while searching for a 12x16 pergola, I came across the Hawthorne design and found the price very competitive. I live in West Virginia so I wanted the steel rather than a vinyl due to varying weather conditions. I had questions, and your customer service was prompt and knowledgeable. I ordered the unit and it arrived in a timely manner. It was assembled yesterday on a 12 x 20 deck extension we built for it. My neighbor, my wife and I did the assembly working in stations. All parts were perfectly marked for identification, and connectors easily identifiable. It went together perfectly. Of the significant number of connectors only 1 connection needed extra attention where the powder coating needed cleared. Where the base plate connects to the post footing. Very well, designed, manufactured, and it is incredibly sturdy. We took extra care to square it on all corners and across the diagonal. Having it square ensured the alignment for all the screws. The directions were well designed and informative with every numbered item listed to make sure the correct parts were being used. From the beginning to the end I give this item 5 out of 5 stars. This was our first pergola, so we didn't know what to expect. It went so smoothly, we've recommended your products to our friends. Thank you, and keep up the good work.

We purchased and received the Backyard Discovery Pergola in July 2022. Pergola arrived in 4 boxes, excellent packaging and delivery. We unpacked and preassembled the Pergola to ensure all pieces were shipped prior to actual assembly. The assembly took 2 men and only 5 hours to complete! We love, love the Pergola, very beautiful addition to our back yard.

I looked at this item for some time before adding to a new paver patio. Looking forward to adding furniture underneath to enjoy outdoor living. I was able to assemble by myself (except for standing posts). The four boxes were received with no damage and no issues with instructions or hardware. This pergola is very sturdy and so beautiful; love it!

Purchased last summer after months of searching. This one is exactly what we wanted, beautiful finish and look, and super sturdy. I put it together myself in about 8 hours, but would have been easier with a second person. Get loads of complements from guests. Love it!

Bought this after much research and debate. Price seemed too good to be true. Item showed up as scheduled and delivery was seamless. Comes in 4 boxes on a pallet which are a little heavy but I was able to slide one off of the other with some effort. Directions are simple and easy to follow. I assembled the unit by myself (with a little help from my wife on some of the awkward parts). Directions said 2 men - 10 hours, I did it in about 24 hours total, over about 4 days due to some family obligations. I differed from the directions in that I assembled all of the components at one time and staged them, rather than assembling them at each stage. This way when I was in full assembly mode, I could just grab the components and put them on. I'm 66 years old, in fair shape and was able to put it together with no issues. Note: They provide all of the tools that you will need.... however, do yourself a favor and get a GOOD T-30 bit for your screwdriver, and a GOOD T-30 allen wrench. The ones that they send won't hold up as there are about 300 screws. Follow the direction and you'll be fine. Make sure that it is anchored securely. Mine is mounted to our composite deck, I drilled through the feet and put a 3/4" plywood plate under the decking, bolted it through the deck and the plate using 5/16" bolts and it's rock solid. Another note: the flat washers are only painted on one side to match the color of the pergola..... get someone to assemble each one correctly (painted side up) ... it's the most tedious part LOL

Me and a friend put my pergola up yesterday. Ages 52 and 65 in decent shape but by no means athletic. We were a little apprehensive in tackling this project on our own when looking at the gazililon pieces. The directions were extremely clear - highly unusual. We didn't make a single mistake! It is stunning. The only complaint is that the shade cloth is 2-3 feet short? I don't get it. I read other reviews and I am glad that someone warned us about being careful not to drop the screws inside the cross beams because it would have been a total pain to get them out. I suggest adding a note about this into the directions. Surprisingly we didn't drop any in there. It is super sturdy too. Very high quality.

We bought this pergola in early June. It arrived several days ahead of schedule with the 4 heavy boxes in perfect condition. We (with help from daughter, son-in-law and 4 grandchildren) assembled the pergola 2 days later. It went together perfectly, with excellent instructions. There were zero issues, took 3 1/2 hours and everyone had fun.

When looking to add additional shade to our Florida home, we wanted something that offered shade, stability and was also aesthetically pleasing. We are very pleased with our decision to install this pergola. When we started to assemble the pieces we were surprised at the quality of the construction. It's been up a few months now and we love it.

Very clean look and it looks great with the led lighting that I purchased.
