Definitely size up. got a medium which is what my son normally wears but once he tried them on at home they were wayyyyyy too tight

These character briefs were a hit with my grandson. I wish they were made of cotton and not polyester. They will be hot to wear in summer heat.

My grandson loves these briefs. They are so soft and smooth, no chaffing. He picks these over any other kind! He's 4.

These are quite nice. Material seems a bit clingy, but it might be breathable enough not to be a problem, but the real issue is that they ran too big for my child who fits that size in other brands and clothing.
