The HyperX SoloCast is honestly one of the coolest little mics I've owned. It looks sharp, and that red light on the front gives it a bit of personality. I also love how the top section tilts back — it naturally lines up with your voice without any fuss. Now, it does skip a few features I usually insist on, like a headphone jack for monitoring and built‑in gain or volume controls. But the tap‑to‑mute is great: tap the top, the red light goes out, and you instantly know you're muted. It's a cardioid mic, so it picks up what's right in front of it and rejects most of the extra noise around you. When you factor in the price, it's a genuinely solid starter mic for anyone on a budget.

I have it on a boom arm and it's lightweight and the quick on/off/mute makes it good for life's surprises while streaming. I love having it instead of relying on a built-in mic with my headset. The only downside is it picks up everything, and i mean everything. The fan in the other room, the fridge, the PC's cooling fan. I just see the input moving in the equalizer. It doesn't have any software that I could find to help control it better
