I previously used a smaller corded hedge trimmer and thought that it would be great to not have to deal with the cord since the plants I have to trim are far apart in my yard. With this being longer I also thought it would be easier to trim the top of my Japanese maple that does its best to grow as much as it can every year. What I wasn't expecting is how heavy this would be. The shipping weight is shown to be 19 lbs. The battery alone weighs almost 4 lbs. It was very tiring holding it up to reach the top of the Japanese maple. And although it does swivel to different angles, I didn't find it as simple as my corded trimmer to quickly change the angle, but that could also be because of it's weight. I took a before and after picture showing my Japanese maple. The trimmer did a good job. I'm sure my husband would not have minded the weight of it, but I am shower and wimpy, so in the end I prefer my smaller lighter corded trimmer for when I want to do a bunch of trimming. For smaller jobs, the convenience of the cordless trimmer will be great. The battery took about an hour to change, and I didn't make a dent in the charge when I was done with the pictured tree and another.

Upon unpacking the hedge trimmer, I could easily tell that it is very well made. It wasn't “heavy” per se, but after an extended use session, it would be very understandable if someone had sore forearms or shoulders. It's comfortable to use, but people of older ages might have more difficulty than others with extended use. The trimmer seems extremely durable. I used the hedge trimmer in mid-April in MN, so there wasn't a whole lot of foliage to cut, but I did have one hedge bush and some leftover Fall cutting to do of perennials. The trimmer easily sliced through anything in its path! I was thoroughly impressed with just how easily it cut through whatever I tried. The battery life seems more than adequate. Out of the box, the battery had two bars. The battery charger is easy to plug in and the battery easily slides into charger. The trimmer is very safe, with a blade guard and two “clickers” to activate in order to operate the unit. Overall, I would consider this product extremely well made and easy to operate. I would purchase it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At first glance this was an awesome piece of machinery. The hedge trimmer is very study and made good. The trimmer is somewhat heavy by itself. Then to add the battery makes it very heavy. The trimmer cuts very good. Goes threw bushes like it's butter. It comes with a 60 volt battery and a charger. Battery life last for around 45 minutes to 1 hour. Charging time take close to 1 to 2 hours to fully charge. Overall this is a excellent hedge trimmer.

The rotating handle makes cutting sides so comfortable. The ONLY complaint is the trimmer is very heavy because of the large battery, but I can deal with that for as great as it works!

Well I can't promise you that, but this hedge trimmer is easy to use even for somebody new to trimming the yews. Quick and easy trim, didn't use long enough to really speak on battery life, but ability to rotate different angles of cutting and easy setup is a plus.
