Better than expected!

First time in a while, I've brought a product and my expectations were exceeded. User manual has actual specifications in it to maintain it such as valve clearances, spark, plug, gap, etc., The generator included everything and needed to get up and going right out of the box took about five minutes to assemble the wheels and feet with included tools and it immediately and fired up with no hesitation. I really appreciate a lot of the little details such as maintenance specifications an included funnel that works for it. And as far as performance, this thing was powering my whole house, including the well and water heater during a power outage that lasted a few days and was reasonably efficient onto the 9 1/2 gallon tank was able to get a runtime of 12 hours between refills!

A winning combination of Price-to-Performance!

Based on this generator's capacity (especially when using natural gas), features, quality, and price, I believe it's a Best in Class product. I am a qualified electrician, so I had no problem installing it in my own home, with a 50amp 12-circuit manual transfer switch. In my area, we suffer more than our fair share of power outages -- our electric utility company shuts down their grid (sometimes for many hours at a time) whenever the wind blows, so as to reduce the possibility of their power lines arcing and causing wildfires. I've had enough, and for me and my family this backup generator (connected to my home via the manual transfer switch) is IMHO the most cost-effective and practical solution (and I thoroughly evaluated a whole-home solar with batteries solution, as well as a permanently installed fully automatic whole home "standby" generator solution). Now, I won't go as far as to say that I'm looking forward to the next outage, but I am very confident that I'm very ready for it!

Plenty of Power

I bought this after the last power outage we had over Labor Day weekend, we were out of power for over 6 hours. After a lot of research, and also having a iGen 4500 for my camper, I bought the WGen11500TFc for my home because of the reputation and reliability of Westinghouse.

Just arrived

Just got my 14500/11500w Westinghouse generator. Installed wheels, feet and oil now ready to go. Unit starts well from local pushbutton or the remote key fob. It's a little louder than expected but the build quality looks good. Handle works well for mobility and fits through my 30" door. Very pleased so far.

Just what I needed

Just got the Westinghouse WGen11500TFc set up and tested, and so far I'm impressed. The tri-fuel option gives great peace of mind, and the engine runs smoothly with lower noise than I expected for this size. Build quality feels solid, and the low THD spec makes me comfortable plugging in electronics. The unit is heavy, so prepare yourself even with the wheel assembly. Also, remember to add oil before first start. We haven't had to rely on it in an outage yet, but based on testing, I feel confident it will deliver.

Feeling Confident About This Generator

Haven't experienced a power outage yet to see how well this generator runs but we did a test run and it worked great, including running the A/C. The person who delivered ours told us he has the same model and it worked great for him during the last few outages. I feel confident about it being able to handle the real thing.

Started on first try - solid so far

I received the WGen11500TFc a few weeks ago and recently had a chance to set it up. I'm I received the WGen11500TFc a few weeks ago and recently had a chance to set it up. I'm not very mechanically savvy, but the instructions for the initial setup were clear and easy to follow. Once everything was completed, the generator started on the first try. It was not as loud as I expected, which was a nice surprise. I haven't had the chance to run it on a full load yet, but based on the setup process and initial startup, I'm very pleased so far.

Well built, easy set up

Well built generator, set up was simple and started up on first try. Tested with hand tools with no issues. Gave 4 stars only because it has yet to perform under loss of power and for long duration, but nothing indicates that it will not handle the test.

Perfect fit for my home

This is the second Westinghouse generator I have bought. This one is for my home. I have a 50 amp outlet on the side of my house that I can run the 36 foot long generator cord to and run all the essential devices (including my furnace, AC and gas water heater) in my house using a transfer switch mounted in my basement. The other one is a bit smaller and is for my mobile home up at the lake. In case of a power outage, I can just unplug the 50 amp cord that goes to my mobile home from the Electric outlet on the utility pole and plug it directly into the 50 amp socket on the generator and run the entire mobile home from the generator power.

Excellent Generator

I purchased this generator so that I could power my house during the frequent power outages that we experience. It starts easily and has a very long runtime on the 9 gal gas tank. The run time and low power droop makes this the best generator I've had. Currently use gas but I now have the option to switch to natural gas or propane if I so choose. Very impressed with the build quality.
