I bought this to loosen the clay soil in our back yard. We live on a hill and I wanted to level a small area for a garden. I am not a big person and I wanted to find something that would loosen the clay without having to use a pick ax, as I get tired quickly when digging up clay with a pick ax. It worked much better then I thought it would. Using an ax would have been quicker, but this tiller easily broke up the top layer of soil digging up the plant roots. I then worked my way down through the clay while moving the loosened dirt out of the way. I will definitely be using it for other projects in my yard.

It is perfect for my pile of dirt I'm breaking up to spread in my yard. Not for the smaller person. Gave me a workout. It is lightweight and sturdy. It's a beast and I would recommend! Two year warranty is definitely a plus to me. One I looked at had a 90 day warranty.

I purchased my Westinghouse 18-in Tiller/Cultivator a in April of this year. It was easy to assemble, and the instructions were easy to follow. I have used it on several occasions in my wife's gardens, which are quite large, without difficulty. It has a lot of power and it's easy to use. I am totally satisfied with this product, and I highly recommend it for all age groups

This is very well suited for my soil preparation needs. I'm dealing with Alabama red clay dirt that 1) is a chore to break up with a shovel and mattock, and 2) requires soil amending before planting. The areas I'm tilling aren't more than 280 sq.ft. and don't require extra depth, so the 18" 15 amp model is sufficient for breaking up the soil and tilling in the amendments. The light weight of the tiller makes it easy to handle and carry --which is essential for me. Price point was also good.

I bought this to take care of my home garden. Just tilled the whole plot 15'x30', pretty quickly. It dug deep and worked hard to really break up the soil well. The tiller was easy to assemble and I was ready to go in about 15 minutes. The W8TCAC did just what I expected.

Haven't use this cultivator yet, but love the size and ease of handling. Not too big or bulky. Electric, so no gas or oil to mess with. No ropes to pull; which is good for my fragile back. Just plug it in and till. This will be good for small jobs like flower beds. Assembly was very easy.

Very good value for price. Great for a small backyard garden. Easy to assemble, easy to use. A little rough when digging into fresh, untilled ground because of its light weight, but it eventually gets the job done. Easy to clean and use! Would buy again

Just received my new cultivator. I like Westinghouse products but I have to say I was disappointed to see this machine has super cheap plastic wheels. Would prefer a better quality wheel over a pair of safety glasses if you feel so inclined to provide.

We experienced great difficulty tilling areas with grass and roots present. The blades get gummed up with plant matter very quickly, which in turn stalls the unit. It takes several minutes to clear the debris before work can restart. What seems to work is using a weed trimmer to clear grass and then a pickaxe and shovel to loosen the ground before using the tiller. Even so, it took over an hour to till a 10 foot section of ground. We hope the unit will perform with greater efficiency inside our garden which has looser soil from years of cultivation and soil amendments.

will not dig into the dirt. what it does dig it throws up onto my cloths from my knees to my feet.
