DOES NOT COME WITH A PROPER PLUG. This needs an extension cord, the plug is like 2 feet long. Other than that, pretty great little wood chipper. It's smaller than a baby stroller and understandably handles small to medium sized sticks. Nothing larger than two inches in diameter. If you have a bunch of trees in your yard always dropping sticks, then this is for you. You'll neverhave to buy mulch, just make it yourself.

Good for light work

I hated throwing out pruned tree branches. This has helped me get those into my composter/mulcher. This is not heavy duty and needs to be cleaned out frequently especially with more fibrous plant materials which will wind up spooled onto the axle nut. But for a low cost, light duty chipper it does well.

Great for cleaning up Brush/Twig Piles but...

I purchased this a few weeks ago and it was going well. All the branches and brush from fire mitigation were being taken care of handily. I went to start it up today and the on/off switch isn't toggling...maybe the vibration shook something loose. I may be updating to 5 stars or 1 depending on how the warranty process goes.

Works well, but QA not so good

Used once so far for about an hour. Works well. But quality control is terrible. When first assembling, there was a rattle inside motor housing. Had to remove housing cover to find reason: There was a screw left inside, and the tip of broken screwdriver. Screw was not just in the motor housing, but was actually inside the cage surrounding the motor! Could have shorted the motor if I used it this way. Very dangerous, don't know how this could have passed QA inspection.

SMALL BUT WORKS WELL

MY HUSBAND HAD QUITE A BIT OF LIMBS THAT HE'D CUT. THIS CHIPPER MADE IT EASY GETTING THEM CHIPPED INTO MULCH STUFF. HE USED IT FOR THE DAY UNTIL THE BLADES WORE DOWN. HE SHARPENED THEM AND STILL PURCHASED NEW ONES FROM THE WEBSITE. THIS HANDY CHIPPER IS GOING TO BE WELL USED. HOPEFULLY IT CAN HANDLE THE JOB FOOR YEARS TO COME.

Good shredder

I have bought the chipper in May, used it heavily a couple of times the past two months shredding cut down branches from Pale Verde Tree. Works well for an inch thick branch. Clogged the gears once, opening and cleaning is easy. The mulching process brought down branches which would have filled a 60 gallon drum to 5 gallon bag. Great tool

Works as advertised

Bought this product for property cleanup after the winter and it works great for twigs and not too thick branches, the free mulch is a nice bonus, will work on all types of branches but I wouldn't use it on too many hard woods which will dull the blade and trip the built in breaker.

Convenient little chipper shredder

I got this chipper / shredder about a month ago and I'm really impressed. I run my palm fronds through it as well as the small branches from my tree trimming. It did jam up on me but I inserted branch that was too big from the recommendation of not over 2 inches. I was able to remove the "jam" and it is running fine. The shredded material it produces is great bedding for my flower beds and garden. And the unit is very light and easy to move around the yard. Just be sure to have a long enough outdoor extension chord

a great little wood chipper for small branches

bought this to beak down branches that I clean up after storms, but I did a great job with dry wood and also held up to some new branches with leaves that I pruned a couple days ago. Overall I'd say it's worth the money if you're looking for a way to beak down small branches to mulch which can be bagged and thrown out easier than having to carry out large bundles of branches that are hard to handle.

Works Great!

I was surprised how well this unit works for my 1/4 acre property. Teamed with a small electric chainsaw, 100% of my yard work now becomes firewood or mulch, saving me from buying both. I generally don't chip material over about an inch as this is excellent firewood. Highly recommended.
