But the interior fabric keeps you warm/hot, so fall and winter months it will be phenomenal. The waterproof material is strong, seems like the jacket is going to last a LONG time. Fits perfectly, just the way I expected it to, and the arms leave plenty of room/stretch to move. Great value and it should likely be more expensive.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, I really liked the Free Country men's softshell rain jacket. I'm 5'10" and about 170 lbs, and the size medium fit me well. It has a nice lightweight feel and seems like a great option for spring and fall weather, especially when you want rain protection without feeling overheated or stuffy like some raincoats can. The fit is comfortable, but at this size I could really only wear a single shirt layer underneath. If you plan to wear thicker layers or a hoodie under it, you may want to size up. My only real complaint is the soft material on the inside. While it feels nice, it tends to cling to shirts, especially long sleeves, which makes it a bit annoying to pull your arms through the sleeves. Even with that downside, I think it's a solid lightweight jacket and a good choice for mild rainy days, especially if you can get it on sale.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've owned a free country softshell jacket before and liked it. This one I am fairly satisfied with as well. It's comfortable, the right weight, smooth zippers, and my last one lasted a few years before it started to show a bit of wear but was still totally usable. Lightweight and breathable, good for those days that are cool but not cold. I've had other brand softshells that have better fitment and just a little cleaner appearance, but these are still good.
