Throughout operation, there are many sounds you may hear coming from your ice maker. These sounds are normal and may consist of buzzing, rattling, squeaking, and more. Specifically, when the Opal is defrosting, it may start to squeak as ice starts to build up around the mechanisms. The defrost cycle is automatic and may take 10 to 45 minutes.
