Brilliant TV

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you are looking for the ultimate centerpiece for your home theater, the LG OLED77C5PUA is effectively the "gold standard" TV of 2025. Succeeding the wildly popular C4, the C5 doesn't reinvent the wheel—it polishes it to a blinding shine. I have spent two weeks with the 77-inch C5, throwing everything from 4K Blu-rays to high-frame-rate PC games at it. Here is why this TV is an absolute beast. 1. Picture Quality: Intelligence Meets Intensity The headline feature this year is the new α9 AI Processor Gen8. LG talks a lot about "AI" in their marketing, but this year you can actually see it working. Brightness: While the C5 doesn't have the Micro Lens Array (MLA) tech reserved for the pricier G5, it is noticeably brighter than last year's C4. The "Brightness Booster" tech pushes highlights—explosions, streetlights, stars—with an intensity that makes HDR content pop off the screen. SDR Performance: This is the sleeper hit feature. The C5 takes standard content (like older TV shows or 1080p streams) and revitalizes it. The upscaling is cleaner, sharper, and brighter without looking artificial. Color & Contrast: You get the infinite contrast OLED is famous for. Blacks are inky and perfect. Colors are rich but natural. 2. Gaming: The Best Just Got Better If you are a gamer, stop looking. You have found your TV. The 77-inch canvas is immersive enough to replace a multi-monitor setup. 144Hz Refresh Rate: PC gamers can push frame rates up to 144Hz for buttery smooth motion. VRR & ALLM: With full support for NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium, screen tearing is nonexistent. Game Optimizer: The dashboard puts critical settings (black stabilizer, genre presets) one click away. Input lag is virtually undetectable. 3. Design & Usability The "C" series aesthetic remains undefeated. The panel is razor-thin—thinner than your smartphone—and the 77-inch model sits on a sturdy, premium stand (though it begs to be wall-mounted). webOS 25: The new operating system is snappier than ever. The "AI Concierge" actually learns what you like rather than just pushing random ads. Navigating between Netflix, GeForce Now, and HDMI inputs feels instant. 4. The "Wow" Factor There is something visceral about a 77-inch OLED. It fills your peripheral vision. Watching Dune: Part Two or playing Cyberpunk 2077 on this screen isn't just "watching TV"—it's an event. The sheer scale combined with the pixel-perfect contrast creates a 3D-like depth that LED TVs still can't quite replicate. Any Downsides? Sound: The built-in 2.2 channel audio is surprisingly decent with clear dialogue, but if you are spending this much on a visual masterpiece, do yourself a favor and buy a Dolby Atmos soundbar. The TV deserves it. Glass Reflection: Like all glossy OLEDs, you'll want to control the lighting in your room. It handles reflections better than the C3 or C4, but direct sunlight is still the enemy. Final Thoughts The LG OLED77C5PUA is a triumph.[1] It sits in that perfect sweet spot: significantly better than entry-level OLEDs, but much more affordable than the flagship G5 Gallery Series. If you want a TV that will make your jaw drop every time you turn it on for the next 5 years, this is the one. Pros: Stunning HDR brightness and contrast Class-leading gaming features (144Hz, 0.1ms response)[1] New Alpha 9 Gen 8 processor makes everything look 4K[2] Gorgeous, ultra-thin design[3]

LG 77 C5 is beautiful and picture is top notch

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The LG C5 is the most amazing TV when it comes to picture quality, ease of use, and value. We couldn't be more happier with the slimness and brightness of the picture quality. Don't hesitate if you are looking for a new TV!

Very Nice OELD TV

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 77-inch OLED TV delivers an incredible viewing experience with deep blacks, vivid colors, and excellent contrast. The large screen size feels truly immersive for movies and sports, and the picture quality is outstanding even in a bright room. Overall, it's a premium TV that's absolutely worth the upgrade.

Unbelievable Picture & Sound Experience

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The picture quality on this OLED is absolutely stunning — deep blacks, vibrant colors, and incredible clarity. I've become a fan of the sound too; the Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision combo makes every movie feel like a theater experience. LG really nailed it with this one.

Love this TV

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been hesitant to pull the trigger on an OLED for our main living room because we have a lot of windows, and I was always worried it would look too dim during the day. After reading about the 2025 models, I finally decided to grab the 65” LG C5, and wow—I genuinely don't know why I waited so long. The Brightness (It actually handles daylight!) This was my biggest worry, but the "Brightness Booster" on the C5 is legitimate. We watched a football game last Sunday at noon with the blinds halfway open, and the picture still popped. It's significantly brighter than older OLEDs I've seen at friends' houses. When the sun goes down and you watch HDR content (like Dune or Mandalorian), it's stunning. The blacks are perfect ink-dark, obviously, but those bright highlights—lasers, sunsets, reflections—are actually intense now. It doesn't just look good "for an OLED," it just looks incredible, period. Gaming Performance (Kid-Approved) While I use it for movies, the main reason we upgraded was for gaming, and this TV is an absolute cheat code. It has four full HDMI 2.1 ports, so we have both the PS5 and the gaming PC hooked up without fighting over ports. Running games at 144Hz is shockingly smooth; the difference in responsiveness is something you feel immediately in fast-paced shooters. The Game Optimizer dashboard is also super handy for quickly tweaking settings without digging through menus. The Real Test: My Son loves it My teenage son, who usually prefers playing on his high-refresh-rate gaming monitor in his room, has completely taken over the living room since we got this. He hooked up his PC to test it out and hasn't left. He plays a lot of competitive shooters (Valorant, Apex) and said the input lag is practically non-existent—he actually told me it feels "cracked" (which I assume means very good). We also played some co-op console games, and the colors and fluidity make everything feel next-gen again. Verdict If you were worried about brightness like I was, don't be. The C5 fixed that. It's the perfect hybrid TV—incredible for daytime sports and movies, and absolutely elite for gaming. It's an expensive purchase, but the whole family is loving it. Highly recommended.

Major Upgrade from LG 65CX

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just turned on this TV and it is a major upgrade from the 65CX I had previously. The CX still looks amazing but this is noticeably brighter. I also like the picture in picture feature for viewing two HDMI's. I am a little disappointed they removed pass through DTS but the CX didn't have it either so I knew this before getting it. This TV was much lighter than the 65CX and felt more solid. The CX was scary when moving it around.

Amazing TV

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just got the LG C4, and the picture quality is incredible—deep blacks, sharp details, and colors that really pop. The sound is surprisingly good for a slim TV, clear enough that I don't feel the immediate need for a soundbar. The TV itself is easy to use, but I'm still getting used to webOS, as it has a lot of menus and features tucked in the back end. Once you get familiar with it, though, it's smooth and powerful. Overall, really happy with the purchase.

Great picture quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Where this tv really shines is in the depth of its blacks. I tested it with a few space movies: 2001, Interstellar, Gravity. Wow, every time it pans to the stars, I am floored. I didn't like the stutter, but LG has Tru Motion built in which fixes all those problems. Overall, great tv.

WOW - What a TV

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We recently bought the LG OLED 77” TV and got it setup today. WOW, what a stunning picture, those deep blacks and vibrant colors. Just a few hours enjoying it, but it really brings everything weI've watched to life. This is our second LD OLED and we are extremely happy with the purchases. There just might be a third LG OLED in our future.
