Heavy duty power generator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Generac power generator is an essential item. It’s heavy duty and useful for periodic outages and is needed to keep my fridges running to keep my perishables items. I’m glad this one is dual fuel; gasoline and propane and that is much appreciated. It’s fairly loud as expected of a power generator but we keep it far away with a long extension cord. Not an issue with noise. One of those things where you don’t realize you need it until you really do. Definitely a must have if you are worried about keeping your items in the fridge fresh during power outages.

Top of the line

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This generator is definitely top tiered! The wheels make it easy to be portable. Living in Florida where hurricane season is so unpredictable this generator is a must! The only downside is doesn’t have a 220volt outlet for wells. It’s quiet for generator and will come in handy when the power goes out.

Works fine, but super-loud

In reality, I only used this for about 20 minutes when the power came back on. This replaces a very old generator that had half the power. Aside from it working well, I can certainly say this generator is deafeningly-loud. Keeping it outside means you typically won't be bothered by it, but it makes you wonder if they could have improved the muffler.

Recommend

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This generator has been an absolute game-changer for our family. We used for cooking during camping trips , also at our house since we have some powers outrages lately. My husband was so excited when he found out it's propane-powered - no need to lug around extra gas cans. Setting up was easy enough and is also light to carry and not super loudly. We definitely recommend and the price is another great point.

Great features.

I bought this one, it served me well during these power outages they have here in Tennessee. Powered my fridge, two bedrooms ( t/v's and boxes), electric fire places. Filled it up at night, it would run all night. (8+ hours). It served me well. I have the whole house one now.

Big and durable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It’s been very cold in Wisconsin so I did not have the time to assemble the generator onto its wheels, but I will get to that soon and update my review if needed! This is a very sturdy, powerful and durable piece of machinery. I’m happy to have this for peace of mind if we were to need to use a generator!

Great generator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently got this Generac Power Systems GP5500 Single Fuel 50 ST generator and am very pleased with it so far. It is very easy to operate, especially with turning it on. It provides very reliable power throughout the time that I had it on. It also is easy to store as it’s not too big.

Works well for small things. Instructions are conf

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The generator works well for small things like camping or a few devices at a time. I wouldn’t use it for a whole house but it could handle my essentials if I needed it to. The set up is not intuitive and the instructions are horrible. They should definitely include clearer instructions and pictures or how to set up the device and how to operate it. It’s quite heavy but easy roll around once the wheels and handles are attached.

Reliable and easy to setup!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Generac GP5500 Single-Fuel (50-State) from Influenster and Generac in exchange for an honest review, and after using it during a recent outage and for a few home projects, I’m genuinely impressed with its performance. The GP5500 has power to spare. It ran all of my essential home items—refrigerator, freezer, Wi-Fi, several lights, and even the microwave—without any strain or noticeable fluctuations. I’ve also used it to power a couple of heavier tools for outdoor projects, and it handled everything smoothly. Starting it is surprisingly effortless. The recoil start consistently comes to life on the first or second pull as long as the basics (fresh fuel, clean oil) are in order. It’s refreshingly straightforward for a generator of this size. In terms of noise, it’s about what you’d expect from an open-frame unit—comparable to a lawnmower at a reasonable distance. Audible, yes, but not disruptive or harsh. The fuel efficiency is another standout. One full tank carried me comfortably through an evening and overnight stretch, which was especially appreciated during the outage. If I had to point out a downside, it would be the weight. Even with the wheel kit, maneuvering it across uneven ground takes a bit of strength. Once it’s in place, though, it’s rock-solid. Overall, the Generac GP5500 is a reliable, well-designed generator that delivers exactly what you need during an outage or for demanding projects. It’s straightforward, dependable, and built to last—qualities that matter most when you’re relying on backup power.

Easy to assemble and use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Where to start! This thing is heavy! After reading the instructions assembly seemed easy enough! It was about 30 minutes for assembly. I like that it has wheels making i extremely easy to move. The handle locks in place to move it and unlocks to store it. We are in the Midwest in an old neighborhood that has consistent power outages. This will make those days so much less stressful! We added the oil and fuel. It had a gage to show how much fuel is in it. After connecting the battery it took a couple of tries to start, I am guessing allowing for the fuel to cycle through. It has a push start and a pull start. It tells you hw much run time it has which is really convenient. You just push the button to stop. It was not extremely loud I would say comparable to a lawn mower in way of noise. It has a consistent run time of 10 hours which is great we've never been without power quite that long! It has 4 outlets. This has a 30 amplifier fpe 240 volts with a gfi outlet.
