This generator is a beast

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Generac GP9500E Tri-Fuel is a fortress of reliable portable power. It stands out for its substantial output, multi-fuel adaptability, and safety focus. While it leans into simplicity over tech-savvy features and isn’t the lightest or most efficient, it packs an outstanding value for serious backup power needs.

The Power Came on Just Before We Fired It Up!

We were into a two day power outage and the temperature was in the 20's. Called ahead and paid over the phone - picked Generac because of the name and quality. Drove 70 miles and picked it up and by the time I got home I was too tired to put it together. It got down to 13, but our propane stove kept us warm - put our food outside! Got the generator put together and the power came on! Took a break, added oil and cranked w/o gas to make sure everything was oiled good and it started! Filled with gas and started on the first crank. Plugged in 2 space heaters and the truck engine heater and let it run for an hour and a half to break it in for next time. Plugged in the battery charger and charged for 24 hours to make sure it is ready to go - really like the battery start feature! Great purchase for us - we have been wanting to get one. (Your program won't let me post a 4 X 6 photo.)

Fired up first pull!

Had to put the wheels on but after topping off with oil and gas this thing fired up first pull. It is somewhat quieter than the Stanley that it replaced. Excellent generator for the money. Output seems to be on the upper end of rating. We run power tools and air compressor of it at jobs site. Works great.

Purchased in the Nick-Of-Time !

I worked hard to find a full service dealer and settled on FD-Hayes, Lansing MI and was extremely pleased with their recommendations for this unit, installation and training. I had this installed on a Monday and literally that Thursday we lost power for 4 days and this unit performed admirably. The safety-switch mechanism on the breaker box was foolproof and the electric start was a real help. I ran it about 24 hours on a single tank of gas, it saved my frozen foods and kept my fridges at temp. I didnt use AC and that is not really a problem as I knew going in that AC would not be viable with this unit.

Great to have as a backup for extreme weather

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We live in a place that is prone to have extreme climate, and sometimes the power can go out when it’s either too hot or too cold. A generator is a necessity for those occasions, particularly to help keep the house at an adequate temperature - whether by powering AC or help turn on space heaters and/or fans. What I like about this product is that it is tri fuel - it can work with gasoline, propane, and natural gas, depending on your needs. We tested it out with gasoline and it worked just fine. Gasoline is also how you can get the most wattage and longest run time. Noise level is pretty ok as well, about what expected for a generator this big. The unit is very heavy, which makes a little bit tricky to get it out of the box for the first time. But once you install the wheels and handle, moving it around becomes super easy. Assembly would also be easier if it included the hex tool, but otherwise it was ok and pretty straightforward. We now need a natural gas hookup so we can have the option to use any of three methods it needed.

Great alternative to bigger generators

A lot of features for the money! This unit delivers emergency power for our whole house, except for the oven and dryer. With it, freeers and refrigerators have enough amps to start their compressors, something smaller generators do not! Also, It has overheating shutdown, which is a great reliability feature. The only problem we’ve had so far is with the battery start. the terminals on the battery come loose way to easily. An inexpensive alternative to the permanent generators, which can easily run over $10000 installed. It is sad that we have a need for this technology, when our parents had cheap reliable energy. And it all could of been avoided.

Generac GP6500E TF Generator – Our Honest Experien

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were fortunate to be selected as part of a Generac campaign and were given the opportunity to try out the Generac GP6500E TF generator. After putting it to the test, we can confidently say: this generator is absolutely outstanding! Watch my video you can hear the noise level. For such a large generator it’s not loud, loud! Compared to our old (small, little dude) DuroStar generator, the difference is incredible. See my side by side comparison of the two generators. The old one was unable to power our whole home. Mainly had it to keep the fridge on and perhaps a lamp. As you can see from the photos, the Generac is much more compact, yet it delivers so much more power and efficiency. It’s designed to handle major loads — from running a huge RV to keeping an entire home powered. In fact, we’re currently in the process of wiring our home to connect it directly, so during the next round of severe North Texas thunderstorms or tornado-related outages, we’ll be fully prepared. What truly impressed us: • Tri-Fuel Capability: The GP6500E TF runs on natural gas (NG), liquid propane (LP), or gasoline, giving us incredible flexibility depending on what resources are available during an emergency. Need different ways to be able to source power! • Reliable Startup: It starts up easily and quickly every time, which is critical when you’re dealing with unexpected power outages. As you can see just the push of a button. • Quality and Efficiency: Generac has a stellar reputation, and after experiencing this machine firsthand, we understand why. It’s thoughtfully engineered, highly efficient, and feels durable enough to last for years. • Easy Assembly: We had it fully set up in about 15 minutes. The instructions were clear, and we also watched a couple of their setup videos on YouTube, which were incredibly helpful. • Peace of Mind: With a young child at home, having dependable backup power isn’t just convenient — it’s essential. This generator gives us the confidence that we’ll stay powered and safe, even when the grid goes down. Our close friends down the road are gonna get one now! They came over and checked it out. They have kids too. So having power is important for them as well. Our power grids out here and very unreliable. One night all it took was someone hitting one pole in our town to knock out all the subdivisions power. Even though we didn’t purchase this unit ourselves, we would absolutely invest in Generac products in the future based on this experience. The GP6500E TF has exceeded our expectations in every way. We can now rest easy knowing that no matter how bad the weather gets, we’ll have the power we need to stay comfortable and safe. Love the solar options they have on their website! We’re campers so definitely gonna get one of those. I need to crockpot it in the forest!! Thank you, Generac, for selecting us to be part of this campaign and for delivering such an incredible, reliable product!

Mine is the GP5500 and it can't wait to start

I needed something in a hurry. Looking for a Japanese product. My friend owns two ACE hardware stores. They only carried Generac. Made in America. Shucks! He told me Generac made top quality stuff. I bought mine in a jam. Delighted. This baby longs to start up! Dying to start up! on the first pull. Reliable, noisy as all get out-no problem. I surround it with some boards-it produces tons of power. Runs forever. I will buy another one. You will love yours .
