Customer reviews for Audubon Park Sunflower Hearts Wild Bird Food, 15 lb. Bag forGourmet bird food!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This bag of Sunflower seed hearts is our new favorite! As you can see from the photo our turkey family that visits our yard regularly loves them too! They emptied the feeder in record time. Our critters in our yard live in peaceful harmony. The larger birds and animals feed from the feeder and the smaller ones eat the seeds that fall under the feeder. You could tell they were really loving these because I have never heard them eat more noisily and excitedly and also they ate it very quickly. So beautiful. I am so excited that Audubon Park has the 100% sunflower hearts now. I don't miss finding all the empty shells lying around. Much cleaner. Despite what you would think from my description above, the feeder seems to stay fuller longer. I assume this is because the average size birds, which make up the bulk of my visitors, fill up much quicker with this seed which is pure food. I hope that this food will be available for purchase at all the Walmart's from now on. We are always picking up a bag of seed every time we go out to the store so it would be super convenient to always be able to find our favorite brand and type whichever one we go to. As you can tell we are really pleased at the quality of this new pure Sunflower Hearts food Audubon Park has created.
Wow, wow, wow!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wonder what birds would think of high quality sunflower seeds, I didn’t know if they would love or hate them. We get finches regularly and every once in a while may see a colorful, more rare bird but within an hour of filling our birds feeders with these sunflower seeds, WOW!! It’s like a few tries it then when and told their bird friends and it was a feast of beautiful birds! I wish I could add more pictures, this is some nice bird food! I will also add the bag came with a handle to easily transport the bag, great idea so you’re not smelling like bird food as it’s thrown over your shoulder. Instructions and care for bird feeders and how to create an attraction environment for beautiful birds are included too.
My sparrow & finch colonies love it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love to have my gardens filled with birds so I have numerous bird feeders/baths/houses scattered throughout. The primary birds in my area are finches & barn sparrows so I encourage them to visit, eat & enjoy my garden along with me. Not all bird seeds are created equal & they respond better to some. This is one. They love this seed mix & have been chirping & singing ever since I put it out. It's such fun to watch. They're not only eating everything in the feeders but all the seed which drops to the ground. I think I must have attracted more when I switched to this mix. They love it.. so I love it.
The birds seem to love it
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These sunflower hearts have definitely gotten the attention of the birds! All of the birds seem to be gathered at one of my six bird feeders where I poured a mixture of regular bird seed in and the sunflower hearts, and I put extra sunflower hearts all around the edges of the feeders, now they seem to be attracting more Cardinals.
Brings all the critters to the yard!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have always enjoyed a lovely mix of birds at our feeders but it seems like the number has doubled since using this, and now we have way more chipmunks and squirrels (and even raccoons at night) showing up to grab some of these seeds! For the amount of seeds in the bag this is a great value. My husband joked that he was going to eat them himself. If you want to give the wildlife in your yard a high quality seed then I recommend these sunflower hearts. This bag will probably last us the rest of the season, but next year I hope to try some of their other seed blends.
We're so glad to hear that all your backyard critters are enjoying Audubon Park Sunflower Hearts! And we're especially happy to hear that your backyard bird count has doubled since you started using our product. Thank you so much for taking time to share your experience!
Birds of all kinds love it
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the first time that I've had a birdfeeder and needed bird feed. The sunflower hearts looked good enough to eat by the handful - but of course I didn't. When I filled the birdfeeder, and hung it, the feed flowed to the bottom but not out of it - I was afraid it might happen because of their relatively small size, but they worked great. It took probably a day maybe a day and a half for the birds to show up. Since then I've seen robins, finches, cardinals, even hummingbirds (who knew they liked feed?), and other ones I can't identify eating at the feeder. So apparently they love it! Two minor complaints: one is that the handle on the bag comes off when pulling it open so there's no easy way to move the bag after opening it other than just grabbing the whole bag and lifting it. There's also no way to close the bag after opening either. As I said two minor (very minor) issues, otherwise an excellent product.
Love watching birds
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband bought a bird feeder a couple of years ago, it’s on the fence where we can see from the kitchen window over the sink. Also when sitting on the patio. It’s nice watching the birds enjoy their food. We live in the northeast, I always try to google if I don’t know what kind of bird is at the bird feeder. So usually my husband gets a small bag of tiny type seeds, the black birds spill it out & the feeder is empty in a day. I got the big bag , 15 lbs of Sunflower Hearts Wild Bird Food, first it has an easy carry handle on it, I liked that. My husband filled the feeder 4 days ago and the birds come & eat and it’s not getting tossed all over. I cant identify all but love seeing the variety of birds at the bird feeder. I’ve seen a few cardinals, male & female, some different finch & other small birds I couldn’t figure out. The usual black black birds, and they cant toss the seeds all over. There is a beautiful woodpecker with a bright red head. Some blue jays too. ( and more ) This Sunflower Hearts Wild Bird Food is great in our bird feeder, the seeds flows out enough to feed from but not fast for the birds to spill it. It attracts lots of birds, the feeder is always busy. So you know the birds love it too.
Bird Seed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is nice birdseed. It comes in a big bag that has a really nice handle for transporting before opening. Once opened, it is harder to transport, so I'd pick a good spot to keep it that allows you to not have to keep moving it. I chose this type because online it says the only ingredient is "Sunflower hearts", but be aware that on the bag itself there is a disclaimer that says "may contain wheat". I have a child who has food intolerances simply by touching items containing wheat, but thankfully she seemed unaffected by helping to put out the bird seed before I noticed the disclaimer. Overall, this is a good birdseed that the birds seem to enjoy.
Fresh Sunflower Hearts
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like to give the birds I feed a variety of food. So adding these Sunflower hearts to the other food or even giving alone I know they enjoy. What's great there are no shells, just pure sunflower hearts. This is a 15 lb bag which is more convenient to have on hand. Attracts Chickadees, Finch, Sparrows, Grosbeaks, Flickers, Titmice, Nuthatches and others. You can use in hopper, tube or platform feeders. No waste and made in the USA!
Great quality without the mess of hulls
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First, this bird food is made by a group that knows and supports birds. Secondly, this size bag shipped to home (and a convenient and durable handle on the bag)makes it very easy to fill feeders with a nutritional and quality food without the mess left behind of hulled sunflower seeds. Lastly, the quality of the kernel is stellar; it's fresh, nearly full-sized seeds, and has little dust. If you want a variety of songbirds to visit, provide quality seed and water and they will come. I will never go back to any other type of bird food!
