As a catering chef, cooking in high volumes, the worst problem is too many “expensive” products lose their value quickly. This set has lasted years, is easy to keep sharp and can take a beating and still appear brand new! I have no idea how Sam’s Club sells them so cheap. I’ve gotten the set for friends in the industry as gifts and they all tell me they’ve over paid for years on other sets too. Love this set!

Five stars isn't enough for this set! I was a little hesitant to spend the money at first, but my goodness, they are worth every single penny. First of all, the wood block looks absolutely gorgeous sitting on my kitchen counter. It has a beautiful rich color that looks so high-end and elegant. But the performance is the real winner here. These knives are incredibly sharp and cut through everything like absolute butter. Prep work for family dinners used to feel like such a chore, but now I actually look forward to chopping vegetables and slicing up meats because it is just so effortless. The quality is top-notch, they have a wonderful heavy weight to them, and they feel so safe and comfortable in your hand. I am so glad I got these. If you are on the fence about buying them, just add them to your cart. You will absolutely love them!

These are professional quality knives worthy of the Viking name. They are sharp with strong stainless steel blades, comfortable handles and incredibly well balanced. The set includes every knife you need including a set of streak knives and my favorite, the tomato knife that cuts so clean and easily it does not crush the tomatoes and they hold all their juice, The set looks great as well with a beautiful wood knife block. I cannot get over how great a value these knives are and they compete with sets that cost over $1000. These will last a lifetime.

I am really happy with these Viking knives. And the Acacia block of wood that houses them is beautiful. Acacia is a rare word from Africa and it has special properties. They actually say that the roots of Acacia trees can talk to each other other. I have this block next to my Global knives which are five times as much a similar set from Japan. The Global knives were about $1200 and they are excellent knives of the finest Japanese hard and steel, however, they are thin and a little bendy. The Viking knives are very thick in your hand and they have no feeling of bending this. I also like the five matching steak knives for dinner parties, the Global knives do not have that feature. I'm actually using the Viking knives more than the Global knives even though the blocks are right next to each other. The butcher knife from the Viking set is very heavy and very, very sharp and great for chopping vegetables and things like that.
