this is by far the best put together unit and instructions I have ever come across and I build a lot of stuff myself. not only that but the unit is extremely comfortable and very high quality from now on I will be purchasing anything I can from this company

I purchased the 4-6 person Paxton Barrel Sauna about 2 months ago and I have been very impressed with the product and the results. The price is extremely competitive with other barrel saunas and the "extras" that are a part of many other barrel saunas are standard with Backyard Discovery's Paxton Sauna. I built the foundation out of pavers and river rock while waiting for the delivery. The delivery was on time and easy. I followed the recommendation to lay out all of the parts before assembling and I am glad that I did because it was a time saver in the assembly process. I would say that I have average to slightly above average mechanical and woodworking skills and assembling this sauna was surprisingly easy. The step by step guide as well as the BILT App was very helpful for the whole process. I would say that in all it took about 9 hours for the full assembly. Follow the guide book and use the rope (not included) during the stave assembly and you will do just fine. You will need a professional electrician to wire the 240 to your sauna. You can get everything ready for the electrician to hook the 240 in if you want, or you can have your electrician do that for you. My electrician decided to run a 110 to the back of the sauna as well so that the LED light was kept separate from the 240, but that is not a requirement according to the manual. The sauna generates heat quickly and we are able to use the sauna once the electrician finished the job and we completed the hour long heat up process as recommended in the manual. I researched many different saunas and I decided to go with the Paxton because I felt (based on reviews and my comparison shopping) that I would get a tremendous value for my money. I am very satisfied with my purchase and the performance of the sauna. If you are not sure if you should make the purchase or not, I say do it! You will be glad you did.

I bought this in March 2026. I had a problem with shipping, and Backyard Discovery's customer service was outstanding. No matter what problem you might have their customer service will help without question. The Wifi doesn't work however it's not a deal breaker for me. The heater has been very good and heat up quickly. The kit looks daunting, (come's in 8 boxes) but the directions easy to follow. I highly recommend this product.

This App is awesome. it's clear and consist and walks through 85 steps to assemble the "Backyard discovery 2-4 person outdoor sauna. I highly recommend it when assembling common household items.

It turns even the coldest days into something to look forward to.

We have had our sauna assembled since March 27th and haven't missed a day using it since. I wake up first looking forward to my morning coffee and then getting into our sauna for a good sweat before bed. A cold shower following is as close as we can get to a cold plunge for now. Sleep has improved for both of us. Getting toxins out provides so many health benefits! It's also very esthetically pleasing to the eye and adds much to our outdoor vibe. Now our son, several neighbors and friends want one too!

My wife and I have thoroughly enjoyed this sauna. It provides good health benefits but has also given us quality time together while visiting. We have had it for about two and a half months. Everything is working well. The value for the money is outstanding. Thank you Backyard Discovery!

What a nice product. I purchased an outdoor kitchen, 2 carports, and a Paxton barrel sauna (still assembling) all from Backyard Discovery. Tried the outdoor kitchen first and liked it so much we just kept going. The installation instructions made it a cinch. Sealed with linseed oil and sauna oil which brought out the beautiful color.

I just got our sauna together last weekend and am very happy with it. The materials are very good quality and the finish is very nice. There is plenty of room inside and it heats up quickly. My family is really enjoying it so far. My only complaints were the directions could have been more precise. I feel like I had to do a few steps over because the directions were missing key points. The only other thing I am not happy about is the wi-fi and bluetooth connectivity is not working for me. I get it connectedand then lose it every time. I wish it was just knobs instaed of electronics to work it because these things can get annoying quickly. Other than this I would recommend this sauna to anyone looking for an awsome build.

Overall a good sauna. The only caveats are the wifi/Bluetooth module is inside a farday cage metal box on the outside of the unit. Couldn't get it to work at all more than 5ft away from it. And the LED light, you can't hardwire to the main board even though it has an option for light terminals. You need to install an outlet next to it to use the light. This is an extreme annoyance and overlooked completely by the engineering team. Seems rushed to market in a way.
